InactiveHey Guys,
Looks like I’ll be running the TaG Sr. class this upcoming year if the deal on the rotax I’m looking to buy goes thru.
I’m pretty new to karting so I need to throughly go over the rules of the class before the start of the season.
What set of rules does the CSC follow? SKUSA or TaGUSA? Or does it have its own set of rules?
Where can I find the full overview of these rules?
Thanks for your help guys!
Hopefully I’ll meet the “locals” out at the track before the season starts! 😀

ParticipantRules, we don’t need no stink’en rules, we’re outlaws out here in the west pahd’ner. Acutally we will be folowing SKUSa rules but they are the same as TaGUSA rules per the joint announcement today.

ParticipantJust don’t open the seal, and keep it stock, use the right tires and you are just fine

InactiveI actually might do the rebuilds myself since I have no plans on running in Rotax Max races.
I’d rather do a rebuild myself and have enough $$ leftover for a new set of tires compared to taking it into a dealer to do the rebuild.
I’m assuming its legal to run a rotax without a seal since none of the other motors in this class have seals.

InactiveSpencer,
Marc is a leopard driver and he doesn’t want you to make any ‘internal’ modifications to the motor. Funny how leopard, biland and sonik can all tear their motors down and do the rebuild themselves, but they don’t want rotax to be able to do the same! There is nothing in the Tag rules that disallow you to do the top and bottom end repairs yourself. It just states under rule 3.5:3.5 Piston / Rings / Bearings / Gaskets: Aftermarket parts meeting OEM dimension and material specifications are permitted
If tech was anything like last year then you won’t need to worry about it. Don’t mean to stir up trouble, just pointing out the obvious.
Here’s a little hint: run that special fuel that I ran last year, have a nitrous box placed inside your air filter and run ‘B’ compound tires and you could be the champion. Isn’t that right Mike 😈
Does anybody want to loan me a kart for the IMI or Grand Junction races? Stacey?? Brad?? JB?? I could be driving a rotax, biland and leopard if all three of you would loan me a kart. Something to think about. Have fun this year, wish I was there.

Participantbiland is sealed i belive, i figuerd he would run RMC, and with the seal there, they dont pull the motor, they look at it and say, go ahead your clear, where as the parilla has like 40 differant tech tools, and they oull them down to the cases and measure the cylinder and all that

InactiveThanks for the offer. I’m sure as the time draws closer I will find a way to race at GJ and IMI or atleast one of the tracks.

InactiveDoug,
You state that CSC tag rules will follow SKUSA, and TAGUSA combined rules, so just that I’m clear on what tires will be useless, and what tires I’ll have to buy, SKUSA says YHC. Weren’t there several option for CSC tag last year? What’s it going to be this year?
Thanks in advance,
Loren

ParticipantTires for the CSC are by durometer. Basically its YHC or equilivent. We will have a list of tires up shortly. Engine rules are by SKUSA/TaG USA. We modify them a little bit to make room for our altitude.

ParticipantSpencer , as long as you are using OEM parts there is no reason why you cannot discard the “SEAL” , and do your own repairs while racing in the TAG / CSC series !
If you decide to race in the ROTAX programs , you will have to have an authorized repair center Re-Seal your motor , I think they charge something like $50-$60.00 !
