InactiveWelcome to the big league Marc. Just stay focused on your ride and try not to get caught up in all the other cool stuff going on everywhere else. It will take you and your dads “A” game just to get running mid pack at this point. Hope the weather starts to cooperate today.
Go get em, and run hard!

InactiveI feel your pain!!! Sounds similar to my trip to Denton this year, keep working a and learn as much as you can, even if you don’t do as well as you hope there is always next year to look forward too. Good luck.

ParticipantMarc,
Looks like you had a rough weekend but a learning weekend at a national level. Tell us all about it and the 3 things you learned and the 3 things you would change (if you could)

InactiveCongratulation to all the Colorado Karters who raced in Lost Wages. Looks like you all got to the mains and did well. Too bad Ace could not pass the guy who won, even though he was faster than the winner. Team Scarberry looked strong again, and Marc’s 10th was very respectable considering where he was on Friday.
Lets try to keep the Colorado momentum going this winter and prepare for 2004. Second Creek is offering free track time the week between Christmas and New Years. Matt would like to chase as many 80’s as possible, if the weather cooperates, around the long track. I will start a new thread in a couple of days pertaining to “pick-up races” if anybody is interested.
Anyway, way to go teams, welcome home!

InactiveThree things i learned, Rebuild the motor for the races (heat and main) get your handeling setup right as soon as possible, and gear the damn thing to rev as high as it could, we had fuel delivery issues above 16000 so it would die out after that. That big of a gear makes the differance. Next year if i am in a leopard, it will have to rev to mid 17 to get down in the good times. If i could change anything it would be wednesday would not have rained, our team be organized, and my qualification be worth a damn instead of dead last. We WILL be strong next year.

InactiveThe reason I travel is to learn as much as possible from the people running at the top. I was running in G-1 as well as TaG Masters. Qualifying near last in each class. After talking to the top Tag Senior kart (GP/Sonik), I was geared 9 teeth TO LOW!!! I could pull every kart down the back straight, but lose terribily in the corners. The top guys were turning 18,000 rpm.
In the G-1 class, all of the super G guys were there, so the bottom 14 were left for the rest of us. I had moved my way up the pack in the LCQ only to be taken out by a kart behind me. Thats racing…
After getting geared correctly, I managed to move from 8th to 6th in the Tag Class. That included 2 spin-outs! To my surprise, one kart failed scales, so that put me on the podium!!! I can’t wait for next year to begin, so I can apply all I learned, nobodys at fault, great week. I would encourage anyone that can, to go to a big event and step up the level of how you play the game.
Congrats to Jay for his 4th place finish. Great driving.
Have a great winter.

InactiveWell said Jim, that is exactly the way we are looking at things. We were 10 teeth too low. I am already homesick of not being able to race for a while.
