ParticipantDo we need to have our own transponder? Also, does the $80 entry fee cover all three days (Sept. 16,17,18) of track time for competitors? If so what is the three day pass for $25 pertain too? :wave

InactiveTom
The dates you listed are for the Nations Cup not Steamboat Springs. Steamboat is August 27-28. Only 2 days.

InactiveTom,
For the Nations Cup. Yes 80 dollar covers your entry for 3 days. The 25 dollars is a 3 day pit pass. 10 dollars per day for anyone coming for one or two days.
PS you can also enter a second class for only 55 dollars.

ParticipantTodd,
What kind of out of town contingent are we seeing for Nations Cup, can you give us an idea of entries from other then Colorado please?August 8, 2005 at 9:31 pm #51434Anonymous
InactiveA lot. 🙂
Honestly besides what I’ve heard I can only speculate. Even when people say they are coming you don’t count those chickens until they hatch.
Plus, pre entry has only been available 6 days it’s open for a month. So pre entries right now don’t mean anything either. I haven’t even bothered to see how many entered yet. Plus, you dont have to pre enter the race.
But, this weekend at least a dozen Midwest guys claimed they were coming. Maybe others. Also have confirmation that a continegent from CA is definately coming. Also pretty sure that some guys in Texas and Canada are coming. Plus I’m sure not everyone thats coming has told me.
The numbers may vary obvioulsy, but I do know that the guys who have told me they were coming were serious players. They will only increase the field competitiveness.

ParticipantTalked with Terry Riggins last week and he is coming from Great Lakes region and working on bringing some racers with him.
Said they wanted to come to Colorado and show us how to race. 😆 😆 😆
Have inquiries from Washington State, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, California and Indiana.
Like Todd said, don’t know if they are for sure coming but they sure asked the right questions and seemed ready to travel.Rusty

InactiveWhen we ran Cascade Locks this past month, there were a few of the racers asking about GGMS and were interested in competing. I hope the turn out is good and the racing as close and clean as it is in our series.

InactiveOne thing to also remember is that SKUSA is the only Sanctioning body to have the G1 class. I expect the Nations Cup Title of G1 champion is worth a few bragging rights.
I expect that class to be well attended.

InactiveIs the Steamboat race a rain or shine race?

ParticipantWe will run in wet conditions on rain tires, but likely would NOT run in the pouring rain. In the case of rain, we will, if needed, rearrange the schedule to allow the Kids and Junior classes to run in the dry.

ParticipantAngie,
What is the difference if it is pouring or just wet. Rain tires will shred if it is not wet enough. My vote would be if we are going to run wet, run wet.
Also,
Any word on how the new TAG weights did at IMI.
