InactiveI know I was not the meeting to vote (some of us could not make it.) and there are many who do not use the web site, thus we are not in touch with many of the class participants.
I have heard that the weight will remain at 410 lbs. I have asked previously to have the weight set back to 395 (the same as the G1 class in SKUSA). Last year many of us said the same thing at the start of the season. But we agreed to let it stand & see how the season went. Well, last season I believe that there was only one racer enter the class as a ?heavy driver? I could be wrong though.
I feel that we should more align the weight back to the SKUSA guidelines of 395 lbs. If there is a great demand for a 400+ lb class then it could be created (similar to the S2 class that was created this year) but also if a we are trying to attract new drivers then I might suggest they start in the NOVICE class.
If you are planning on running in the senior class then please post your feelings about the weight here.
How can we get this changed?
Should I contact all the drivers I know and list all the names & how they feel? Would that be acceptable?February 6, 2004 at 8:46 pm #45939Stu Waterman

Steve ReedI have not contacted anyone yet that wants 410 lbs, but I will continue to seek them out.
Most say that there are interested in being inline with SKUSA so they don’t have to change weight/setup to run SKUSA races.More to come as the votes trickle in; hell this is more exciting this is than the democratic primaries

ParticipantI think Barry was the only one who wanted to keep the weight at 410 , but I doubt if he’s going to actually race !

ParticipantWe should try and follow SKUSA for the shifters and the TAG/SKUSA for the TAG classes as close as possible so that when the guys that go to a national event are already prepared and have all of their testing done at the correct weights.
395 lbs Senior HeavyFebruary 11, 2004 at 9:54 pm #45949stacey cook
ParticipantI have never run the MG yellows but understand that they are great! I hate to see the tires restricted to reds, If the YHB’s can’t compete then everyone will be running the MGs. Maybe then the price will come down andmake it more affordable for the racers. The MGs are cheaper already and everyone says they wear much better than the BS.

ParticipantSpacy , besides yourself , are there any other (G-1’s) over there who would, given a chance , vote for the weight to be 395# ?
I plan on having a quick show of hands before the Qualifiing begins on April 4th , do you or Brad have any problems with making amendments based on circumstances of this nature ???J.B.
