ParticipantHey Everyone:
There’s a fellow karter up in Canada who’s fighting for his life. His name is Justin Mullins and he’s in a coma. Now, I don’t personally know this young man but his father’s sitting at his bedside day and night praying for a speedy recovery. It seems that Justin was ejected from his car while driving himself and his girlfriend from the track. She has a broken ankle and other injuries but was inside the car.
Parents, tell your kids you love them a little more and tell them how proud they make you. Life’s too short!
Now, in our karts I realize that we don’t have the option to wear seat belts because we don’t have them. However, whenever we get into an automobile we HAVE THAT CHOICE. Please, make the right choice and parents, lead by example!
My Father to this day can drive an Indy car or a NASCAR and get buckled in but put him behind the wheel of a regular vehicle and the response is “it’s too binding/uncomfortable/ etc, etc. And I cringe driving without a seatbelt.
Anyhow, buckle up! I’ve clicked two people out of a rolled over car and seen a person die because they didn’t wear one. IT’S THERE FOR A REASON USE IT! Don’t let loved ones have to identify you at the morgue!
As you can tell this is a hot button for me. Let’s learn from other people’s tragedy and also say a prayer for Justin and his family…
