ParticipantNice update, Stan…that’s a pretty long weekend for you! For some reason, in my 9 years karting i’ve never made it down to CRE/SBR for a race. Something always seems to come up at the last minute, so i’m excited about this one. I’ve always heard great things about it, and that it’s a fantastic drivers track.
Hopefully the LO206 drivers will take advantage of the great deal that Stan & SKUSA are offering, and come out for this race. I don’t want to be the only one out there! 😯

RMPKC race is your chance to finally go down and drive the track. In my 16 years of karting I have not been able to making it down to SBR until this past weekend, and I have to say Iv been missing out. This track has elevation changes like iv never seen before, the track is very flowing and has some very good passing zones. Lee ( the track owner) has worked very hard to provide the best possible track he can for us. I got to spend some time talking to him, and he is very excited to have skusa race at his track. I have meet very few people who are as passionate about the sport as Lee is, he just genuinely loves karting and everything about it. I encourage everyone who is able to make the trip to the springs to do it, it will be a great weekend.Cory Milne

ParticipantCRE/SBR is where it all started with us in 2001. Doug Welch invited us into the family trailer during the State Championship race and planted a bug that would take our family on a wonderful journey for many years. Matt and I wittnessed some of the best racing that day that has yet to be wittnessed by me to this day. Those were the days as many will attest to, and for that, I thank you Doug and the entire Welch family.
I have always said that if you can learn to be fast, and bring your stuff to the checkered flag at this track, then you can go anywhere in the USA and run up front. Getting it to the checkered flag at SBR wil take skillful driving, patients, great tuning of chassis and motor, and luck. That has always been the challenge that makes this track one of the best.
One more note or comment from me. While SBR is in great hands with Lee, and I am sure he will continue to pour his heart and soul into the entire facility for your racing enjoyment and safety, I cannot go without an honorable mention to the original owner. Say what you will about George Durdin, but from what I know today about track maintenance, race day prep and logistics, on and off-track calls from the RD perspective, and everything else that goes into pulling a good race event off, George needs one more pat on the back from me. He made his fair amount of mistakes, right Doug? , but he worked his butt off from before sunrise, to sunset making sure his backyard was as good as he could make it for all of us who chose to race there.
For that, I say thank you George, wherever you are. And congratulations Lee for obtaining your dream and having the raw passion to keep this little strip if pavement alive :bow
I wish everyone a great SKUSA event!

ParticipantThat track is still one of my favorites. Its a bull ring in the sticks but is definitely worth making a trip down to. We contribute a lot of our national success to seat time at Callahan.

ParticipantWhen I first announced the 2014 RMPKC schedules and races noticed SBR was included, I was bombarded with calls and emails wanting to know if I was participating in Colorado’s newest recreational leisure. :loco
After the tire test report, Facebook, Twitter, internet, cell phone and feedback generated by this site, the questions are now “Where is this track” and directions on how to get there.
Prior to selecting this venue, numerous hours of research and communication with racers took place.
The end result, I had to see for myself. I did so and was happy to see it was exactly what was needed.
I clean, well maintained facility that will test the driver”s / tuner”s ability to compete on a level playing field.
A track that a fast motor might get you a spot or two, but a track where everyone is basically at the same advantage and challenge.
A venue where every racer has to make the critical decisions famous in professional racing. (Should I push my tires to get me to the front in 3-laps and relay on my set up and driving skills to keep me here, or do I save it for a last 3-lap “charge” in the main.
Of course the LO-206 racers will not wear out the tires, but they will get the same experience in tire management if they over heat them.Every racer who chooses to attend rounds 3&4 of the RMPKC will be faced with this challenge or advantage.
22- Miles is the entire race distance. ( 4-lap qualify) Just short of racing from Calhan to Colorado Springs. (Which is where you have to get a room if you don’t reserve a room at the host hotel) :directA track where the LO-206 is almost as intense as a shifter.
A track that will generate the same smile on your face that I seen on Cory at track exit after the test! 😀When is the last time where you got the opportunity to use your driving and tuning skills against other racers in an environment where the most $$ will not necessary take the checker. A place where nobody has been testing (exception this week) in years. :jump
SBR is open for testing EVERY day of the week. Just call ahead. :hiOn-line event registration is open, simply go to http://www.superkartsusa.com/rmpkc-store.html Avoid the at-track registration process and take advantage of the pre-entry discount. Also, the LO-206 discounted entry fee.
See you in a few weeks! :co :green
