:usa: The greatest people in the world are karters. We have a true sense of community and when one of our partners is hurting, we are all hurting. Such is the story of Lee and Ivy Seigel.
Lee and Ivy dreamed of running a successful kart track and gave everything they had to fulfill this dream for us, the Colorado kart racers. I have raced at their challenging SBR track in Calhan, Colorado many times and I always look forward to seeing Lee and Ivy with their smiles and a sincere thank you for coming down from Denver. Unfortunately, they just lost their house and all possessions in the Black Forest Fire. When you are sitting in your own home, take a look around and imagine losing everything you have. A scary thought for sure. For Lee and Ivy, this is not imaginary. This is a real-life nightmare.
KART RACING FOR HEROES, the Colorado Junior Kart Club and the Pikes Peak Racing Club will be working together to raise funds for Lee and Ivy Seigel.
On Saturday August 3rd, KART RACING FOR HEROES will set up HEROES races between the police, first responders, and the military (National Guard, Air Force and Army). We would also like to run a special race for firefighters from the area to say thank you for battling the wildfires you have experienced over the last few years. As always, kart racing is a great way to remove stress without the use of alcohol or drugs; a central theme of KART RACING FOR HEROES. We have secured local news and TV coverage of this event that will generate support from the local community.
Sunday, August 4th is the SBR race day for the CJKC and the PPRC. We will turn this into a day of fund raising for Lee and Ivy Seigel.
What can you do? Please contact us with donations that we can use in a raffle to raise funds… Example of items we have all ready for raffle… diamond pendant necklace, free kart practice, fuel, carpet cleaning, duct cleaning. We need more. Let’s make this a super event for all of us karters so we can say we did this for one of our friends.

Can you please add some details to Saturday? Can one test and tune a kart that is intended to race Sunday? Can the same kart be used to participate Saturday somehow in your event?
Thanks! Leo.
