Participant:usa: RACING FOR HEROES Update
Good luck to all the racers this weekend at far away tracks and local events if the weather cooperates.
With the help of many people a great event has been planned. Please check out the following below.
THE RACING FOR HEROES EVENT IS ON FATHERS DAY WEEKEND AT GRAND JUNCTION MOTOR SPEED WAY SO GRAB YOUR DAD AND LETS GO RACING.
We will have all the classes of the regular club race as well as the open class of “run what you brung”. In addition, there will be races in the following RACING FOR HEROES categories: handicap karts (hand controlled for wounded warriors), National Guard, fireman, police, and first responders. The race direction will be the same as the summer SKUSA race.
Saturday, Practice day for all classes
June 18th Golf late afternoon for those who want to chase the little round ball
Dinner and a movie at the track. Free for drivers and teams

June 19th Pancake Breakfast by the Lions Club, 6:30 to 9:30 am.
All drivers with wristbands eat for free. Others team members will eat for $6.00.
This will be open to the public and promoted in Grand Junction on radio
and TV.
We will have fans in the stand so look sharp and enjoy Father’s Day.
Tentative schedule:8:00 First warm-ups by class
9:00 Color presentation and anthem details to be added
9:30 Warm up and first race series
12:00 Lunch and media races
12:45 Second race series
14:00 Final races
15:30 Trophies and closing ceremonies
The hotel for this event will be the Grand Vista in Grand Junction 970-241-8411. Mention the code ‘RACING FOR HEROES’ to get a special room rate. Camping is also available.
There will be a drawing for a Yamaha generator and other prizes. Driver race packets will include one ticket for this drawing. Extra tickets can be purchased to increase your chance of winning. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated.
