InactiveThank you for getting this started, I don’t know if I would be the expericenced one for JR1 Honda but if no one stands up please count me in. Also please post anything that you may need help with or volunteers. I think everyone outside of paying to race should also “give back” in ways to maintain or improve the sport.

ParticipantI will volunteer for the junior tag class. I think this is a great way to help new and interested racers come up to speed quickly. I?m not sure the liaison to track owners is as necessary simply because the track owners in this state are so approachable and, I believe, already highly in tune with the need and interests of karters. However, it is always nice to have a liaison path when new ideas and concerns arise.
Since I believe that at a junior level (if not all levels) karting should be more about friendly competition, camaraderie, and pure fun than wining at any cost, I would go a step further. I would be happy to plan and host some class events on and off the track. Having practice days at the track with class peers could really help the newbies come up to speed quickly and tighten the rest of the class by sharing racing tips among friends. It would also be fun to practice as a class. For juniors, in particular, having off track social time can help build the bond in this class as well as help meet some of the unique needs of teenagers.
This is a great idea, Angie. Unless somebody else wants this position or wants to share it, I will go ahead with plans regardless of whether we move forward on designating ?official? representatives. I don?t want to hog the ball but have no trouble moving it forward and shooting if no one else will.
I will start a list of class participants based upon last year. I will need to get contact information from you and be informed when someone new signs up or inquires about junior tag racing. Feel free to post and give out my name and contact information:

[email protected]This is still all informal but I?ll go ahead and announce the first junior tag class group practice session at the Track on Saturday, March 3, weather permitting. This is one week before the first Series event and may well prove to be the first time many will have a chance to be on a track. I?ll try to find an expert to come and talk to us about early season set-up, preparation and training. I?ll talk to Jim about saving an area where we can all pit together. More to follow (We?re not going to leave out the western slope folks!).

ParticipantSorry Mikey, didn’t mean to overlook the fact you volunteered at the meeting. I didn’t include that Kurt Freiburg volunteered for Mini Max, too.
We will miss you at the CSC events, will the kids get to race at all this season?

ParticipantSorry, Mike. I didn?t realize you had stepped forward. PLEASE run with the ball. I know you will do a great job. I?ll provide back-up support. I also have some serious scheduling challenges. Perhaps between the both of us we can ?get ?er done.?

ParticipantLarry……..Please feel free to jump in, we will not be running or attending many if any of the CSC races because of other things going on this summer. I will be glad to help in any way I can. I had not notified anyone of this yet because we were still trying to work out the details. It looks like we maybe racing the IMI/The Track series if time allows. If you still want to assume the role than I would still be willing to help if needed.
Thanks

ParticipantAngie,
I’ll volunteer to take care of any PRO class duties. E-mail, phone, snail-mail, whatever is needed, I can do it. I doubt I will see too many newbies but if racers stepping up from another class need information about the PRO class, I think I’m the guy to go to. PM or e-mail me if you need my contact info for when it’s “official.”Later,

ParticipantT, thanks for volunteering. If you notice, there are not seperate Novice and Pro 125 Shifter classes, so are you still interested? It would be for 125 Shifter (which is the old Novice and Pro combined – no more experience designation)
Thanks,

ParticipantOh ya, I saw that but it skipped my mind. I can still do it, no problem.
