ParticipantHi everyone… I am new to Tag Masters this year, having raced in S2
last year. Wow, what a different feeling in the kart. I like it!! Kinda
weird to be able to keep both hands on the wheel at all times. I have
been doing a little testing here at GJMS, with some concerns. I am a
little heavier than the previous owner, so I added 2 teeth in the rear.
This really helped my corner speed, but I don’t feel like my straight
away speed is right. Seems like the engine quits pulling about half
way down the long straights (even before the gear change). Am I
imagining this?? Maybe too fat on the main jet?? Is there a preferred
setting for the RAVE, or does this change with conditions?? Right now
I am at 84 teeth in the rear, 158 main jet (at 50 degree weather), and
about 7 or 8 clicks out on the RAVE, and top notch on the needle. Any
comments or help would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to
racing with what looks like a great bunch of racers this year. Thanks!!

InactiveIf you can get your hands on the November Go Racing magazine, the free one, Memo’s Secret of Speed discusses the Rave valve and a little bit about using it to tune the Rotax.

InactiveIsn’t Tag Masters the “heavy” class? Pretty sure Stacey is running that class as well.
Jerry, P.M. me and I’ll give some help. Roman’s over class weight for Tag Heavy. I can help you with a set up there for a heavier driver. Last time at GJ was for the Nations Cup, and we qualified on pole, don’t be discouraged if you’re over minmum.
