ParticipantWent out to SBR today, and holy cow, it’s wonderful. Lee and the PPKRC guys have done an excellent job of getting the old CRE now called SBR Motor Sports Park back up and running. A new driveway as been added leading to a registration building and then to a newly improved parking area. They have added a kart new entrance and exit off of the east end of the paddock. There’s new fencing, and much more. The whole property has been mowed and cleaned up.
Now the Track, The repairs make it better then when we all raced there years ago. Lee has added new pavement at the west end in trun 1 and its now almost a sweeper. We drove the four stroke shifters out there today and all I can say is , can’t wait until the first race which is in two weeks. Big Thanks to all who have helped Lee get this together, PPKRC now has a real purpose built track to practice ant race at, thanks Lee and Jesse.
Test and tune is $35, PPKRC Racing is $70 for members and $90 for non members. “NO pit space fees”, PPKRC Membership is $35 for a full race series and end of year points and trophies. We have a Class for everyone, it’s open tire and open fuel. Check out the PPKRC website in the next few days for registration and membership forms. We’ll have a map to SBR Motor Sports Prak up very soon.
SBR is open on the weekends 10am to 7pm, for now during the week you need to call Lee, most of us plan on going in the evenings during the week to just hang out and run a few laps.
Thanks again to the SBR for getting this track back up and running. Please go out to SBR and support these guys so that we can keep this track up and running for the long term.

ParticipantWow, that is some great news. I only ran there once, in 2001, and loved it.
A former karter and longtime friend from the Springs just asked me a week ago what the status was out there (he’s run the Pikes Peak Hillclimb for 25 years). I’ll let him know it’s up and running, he loves coming out for rentals.
Congratulations!
