Welcome to a great sport with lots of great people.
If you are planning on participating in any of the events alongs the front range, you may want to call Brad at IMI and pick up a sealed Honda. That is what we race in the Kid Kart class and it is strickly enforced (as it should be). With the Honda, basically all you can do is add the spec fuel and go race. It keeps the playing field equal and makes the races fun for the kids.
If you are planning to just run for fun at the tracks on non-race days, go ahead and get your Briggs humming.
