    Hey all,

We are in the heart of the summer months of racing here in Colorado. With multiple series in full-swing, racers traveling all over the country (and sometimes the world!) to compete, it has been an interesting and outstanding 2018 in many respects for Colorado Kart Racing. Of course, there have been challenges as well, but that’s for another forum topic perhaps.

I’d like to touch base on new or returning user registrations. In the past and currently, the user registration process has been automated. While automation is great, one challenge this has caused is an epidemic of ‘spam’ account creation. This slows the website down, and potentially can compromise account holders information or enjoyment of the site, should one of the ‘spam’ users post or comment etc.

While The Karter admins have done their best to keep track of these registrations, it has been frankly challenging to keep up with the volume of these account creations. Anti-spam and WordPress security measures were beefed up, modified, etc., to no real avail.

As a result, for now The Karter will switch to a ‘manual’ registration process. To be 100% clear: This will not affect or govern anyone’s eligibility to register or create an account. This is simply a way for The Colorado Karter.com to avoid getting bogged down by automated registration requests.

    New Registration Guidelines

(see the new user registration page as well).

To register, send us an email at:  [email protected] to sign up! We will address your registration request as soon as possible.

Please provide the following in the email:

Your Real Username: A first, and last name. In accordance with our forum guidelines as of Jan. 2018, all other variations of username will be ignored or asked to change.

Logically, the email address the request is received from will be assigned to the account. A random (and changeable upon initial log in) password will be created and sent to the user.

We welcome thoughts and feedback on this procedure change.

    –Eric Gunderson
