    Hey guys,

I’ll be heading out to Action Karting in the near future to get some practice before the first CSC event.

Can any Rotax guys suggest a good baseline rear sprocket I should use with a 12 tooth front sprocket?

    Thanks!

    Spencer,
The gearing used at Bandi last year was 12/83-86. I would highly recommend buying an 11 tooth front driver – it needs a special washer and shaft sleeve to fit on properly. If you go with an 11 tooth front, you can run smaller rear gears and not have them bounce off the curbing at bandi and even though a ratio is a ratio is a ratio….running a smaller front driver gives you a better bottom end. Bandis is full on bottom end only…the front straight with kinks is IMPOSSIBLE to pass on and nobody has big enough boys to get it done. Gear for bottom end.

    Thanks Dennis.

Good advice on the front sprocket. I already bottomed out/cracked a rotor at IMI, and would not like to continue that expensive habit with sprockets. 😆
