InactiveRight now we are thinking of not making the trip. Forcast calls for 60% rain/snow in the Denver area for Sunday and a possibility of 9″ – 12″ of snow in the northen NM mountains, I dont cherish the thought of driving though the Raton pass with the trailer in the snow! is there someone who wouldn’t mind me calling them noonish on Saturday to see what the prospects are before we make a final descision?

ParticipantLADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
Cowboy Up!!!
I checked the pilots weather briefing site and I am going out on a limb by saying that it is going to be more of the same Sunday as we have today. Low 60’s and cloudy. The barometric pressure is 30.00 and dropping. Meaning the front is going by and will be good for Sunday racing. Yea, going over a mountain pass with snow isn’t my idea of fun or safety so that is legitimate but us colorado karters should not have the same issue. The only issue you should have is how do I make my kart go faster
Hope to see you all there.
By the way, I called Las Vegas and they say the over under for the TAG class is 35 drivers. I’ll take the under.April 2, 2004 at 11:38 pm #46640Doug Welch
ParticipantLastest forcast on AOL is for partly cloudy on sunday with high around 57. It just keeps getting better. I suspect that by sunday, it will be clear and sunny, highs in the 60’s and we will be laughing about the stupid weather forcasters again.

InactiveIt doesn’t look like we will be in attendance. There are simply to many variables this weekend. The karts aren’t 100% ready, drivers isn’t 100% ready and traveling 4 hours, getting a hotel and HOPING for good weather is too much. Not to mention fuel prices are out of hand. Diesel here is $1.68 so it must be at least $1.80 in Colorado. That is an $80-$90 bill on the trip alone. I always cry poverty though. Have a safe and fun race everyone.

InactiveSo what are the answers to the original questions? What is the scheduled weather-out date and how will we be informed if Sunday is cancelled? I’m not really too concerned about the forecast now; I just want to get a date on my calendar and know who to call or where to look if someone decides to cancel at 6:00 a.m. Sunday so I don’t waste a drive.

InactiveI just checked the weather and it look like mostly cloudy, low 60’s.
However it rained all night, should continue through today and into tonight.
If that holds true then we’ll start the day with a cold, damp track tomorrow and have a nice late morning and on into the afternoon.

ParticipantThe rain is through, the skies are clear and tomorrow will be mostly sunny and in the 60’s. Many, many racers are already at the track and it looks like the first CSC race of the season will be a barnburner. See ya’all there!
