I don’t know what the ‘optimal’ lengths are, but my flex length is about 85mm, I leave that one on all the time. Use that number as an example of a long piece (bottom end heavy). Shorten up the flex from there for the longer tracks that require more top end. I’m just too lazy to swap mine out all the time. I cut mine with a chop saw with a metal cutting blade..then you can smooth the ends with the same spinning blade…danger is my middle name. Wear eye protection.
