ParticipantWouldn’t surprise me man that you were treated bad there, I have heard horror stories from accross the nation about indoor places. I havent been there in 2 years, and I still remember being the fastest driver all day there and being yelled at for being too “hard” on the equipment. That place is more of an amusment park then a race track.

InactiveCool, then its just not me.
I got flagged to pass when my friend (whos a pretty fast guy himself) was right behind me, not bumping me and not fast enought to pass. Just good, clean, close racing.
This punk’s friend got to hand-pick his kart and take a lap before we were even seated. He waved the pass flag because the little jerk couldnt get past us. That perterbed me a little bit, so i slammed on my brakes to let them by.
He black flagged me! I didnt know why, so i kept driving. He then jumped in the middle and stopped, and yelled at me to get the hell out.
And let me tell you, I don’t take kindly to being disrespected. I let the little shyt have it, and have it hard.
I also called him the KartNazi ( ala Seinfelds Soup Nazi  )

Inactivetry this site – http://kic.fi/
although the site is in Finnish, click on the left column KARTINGRATA and scroll down to the bottom pic which shows a great view of the track. I have visited and driven this track many times and I have yet to find any other facility as nice as this one. Another plus is the BEAUTIFUL girls that work there along with nice karts (9.5 HP), spotless locker rooms, etc. etc.
Last time I was there it was 18 euros for 12ish minutes. About a 42+ second lap.
The KARTIN CLUB is owned by a former Trans Am series driver who is of course Finnish (can’t remember the name). In the magazine that they give you when you visit, it has pics of Mika Salo, Mika Hakkinen, and Kimi Raikonnen hanging out there.
If only….

InactiveJim,
How often do you get to Helsinki? I have been to another indoor track there, but dont remember the name. I get to Helsinki about four times a year, will have to look this place up next time.I always try to schedule a trip during the WRC weekend. A couple of our guys fron the HEL office run in some of the lower support and vintage classes, always a good time.

InactiveI fly internationally for UPS so I used to go there about once a month until they changed the type of airplane for the Helsinki flights. I also go to a track in Stockholm which is pretty nice too and is only a 5 minute walk from our hotel. The track is right behind the big train station downtown Stockholm.
The Kartin’ club in Helsinki is about 15 minutes by bus from the main downtown area where I stayed. I know it is in the phone book there because that’s how I originally found it.
