ParticipantTom,
We geared up for the straight at Vegas last year and soon found out the race is acuually in the technicial part of the layout. Don’t get too caught up in the length which is actually 500′ shorter than last year.
Once we geared Matt for the infield we started running with the fast guys.Having said all that, you still need to get around turns 1,2 &3 in the heat races. That is the key to success in Vegas. We are still learning how to do that without being on the bottom of a pile up. 😳
Good Luck, and hope to see you out there.

ParticipantIt’s hard to say until we get out and run a few laps and look at the data. We all got together last night for dinner as a team and had this discussion. Thanks again to the Wilmonts!!!
I came to realize that every race this season, including Black Rock, was run on the same gear ratio. Steamboat and Bandi just became 4 and 5 speed tracks. It was good for Matt as a fresh 125 ICC pilot to get used to the power band of the motor from a hole shot to a long straight run. He knew what the motor could do and was able to concentrate on other important issues in the heat of the battle.
Next season is a whole other strategy however. It’s ShowTime! - AuthorPosts
