Well it takes more than one guy with a hammer to make a club.
The only orginized kart ice racing we have had for the past few years has been when Extreme Ice Racing puts on their traveling event at the Loveland Bud event center in Jan. That event has karts bikes and quads. The karts are limited to open 4 strokes though and Colorado brings out about 3 including myself.
There is other crazy people in the state playing on ice. Rainbow falls which is near Deckers has quad and bike clubs doing a race series. Rainbow will let you play on there ponds with what ever you want, yet the orginized race days have a full class line up with little or no room for a class of karts to make the short winter days even longer.
George Town has had the Jeep club running for years too.
As far as karts it is about time to try and get something going.
With Colorado being dominate with sprint style karts, Tags and shifters, my dream is to run them on a sprint coarse instead of an oval. I have a good lead on a private lake near me that the care taker seems to be game at doing this yet besides the work involved in studding up some tires. The real work would be clearing the lake of the snow to set up the coarse. With that in mind the simplist and warmer deal would be an indoor ice hockey rink in town.
I did get a set of 6″ wheels for my shifter that I mounted some Carlise snow hog snow blower tires on for a trip to that private lake at some point.
I don’t know why it doesn’t happen, yet I would think that a kart shop would be interested in promoting karts in the #1 State of winter activities.

Well, anything I can do to help/promote any such activities, im totally down for. What is all involved in setting up some studs in tires? Do they only race Jeeps up in georgetown? Or could i rig a set of tires on my friends WRX and go have some fun?

Thanks for the info freeze….let me know what I can do. I really have always wanted to go on ice, simply because im sure its crazy fun, and you learn a heckuva lot of car control on it too.
