ParticipantDoug,
After taking a shower to get off the grime I was in bed at 2:30. Of course, having 5 hours to think about the weekend all I have to say is that I’ve got a new team I race for: Team Minardi. I’m still trying to wipe off the “L” off my forehead!
However, I did FINISH all 20 laps in the main and 10 in the heat! Thanks for a great weekend y’all in GJ and thank you Doug for letting me “borrow” an exhaust valve gasket. I really appreciated it.

Participant3:00am for me, and back to work at 7ish. I really wanted to see Greg’s run from the back to the front in the main. Guess you guys got snake bit. Great main in the stock moto nun-the-less. Roger got run down by a mad man from Utah at the stripe, what a finish! Sounds like you will get lot’s of payback opp’s as they will race all of the CSC events.
We had a great weekend except for the main start. Hope Cody S. is alright. He had a big header with lot’s of air! Lost sixth gear half way thru and got run down. Thanks for Kyle doing his extreme karting move on the final lap, we found our first pro podium.Big prop’s to KLS racing and Tom Kutscher’s support. Looking over Lorenzo and Vince Mandarino’s shoulder all weekend was huge! Great people with loads of wisdom.
Great job Cooks, CSC, and track workers

ParticipantA quick update on Cody, Greg called his brother Jake as we were leaving the track and it appears that NOTHING was broken. A bit of road rash on his arm and a rung bell was it. It was one scary ride though.

ParticipantTo the Cook family, what a great time :sun: you do it right. Doug just think us G.J. boy’s and girls are asked to make that trip 7 times ( if it don’t rain us out ) not just twice. 👿

ParticipantInteresting weekend to say the least, lots of stuff to think about.
We shredded a tire on our trailer just before Evergreen and after putting the spare on, noticed that whatever shredded the first tire also ate the rear tire on that side as well. Luckily it’s a tandem axle or we would have been screwed. We were able to limp our way to Evergreen with no tread and the cords tearing apart on the bad tire. Had to leave it there overnight, gotta go pick it up today. Got to bed at about 3am.
Anyone know what the final entry count was? Not too many people there.

InactiveI counted 123 off of mylaps.com. Must be blown motors on Saturday’s and Sunday’s practice….. I bet they were rotax motors too… 😯

InactiveThe Cooks did do a great job! The new facilities are going to be a huge improvement. This is one of our favorite tracks to run.
Glad none of the drivers was seriously injured! Initially it looked like a few of the incidents were not going to have a very good outcome. Glad Cody and Kyle are o.k. Spoke to Kyle this a.m. and his wrist is a little sore but feels good other than that. Great news on Cody!
Not sure about the combined 125 Novice and 125 Masters, seemed like a large disparity in lap times and skills and by judging the damaged equipment as it came buy, it was an expensive day for some. Glad we were clear of that. It was hard to tell the running order as well. New drivers and drivers that changed kart brands made it hard to know the running order in combined classes.
So cool to see Matt’s 1st Pro podium!!! Congrats Matt & family!!!!!
Running 2 Karts makes it difficult to watch all of the other races, which is kind of a bummer. But what I caught was good racing.
Good to see familiar faces again and meet some new ones too.
Also, the GP guy’s (Kls and Extreme & Rocky Mtn. Kartsport) are absolutely great people who just happen to prepare the best track side food I’ve ever had! Unbelievable!
Home at 2:30 up @ 6:30 and running on fumes right now. But it was worth it.

InactiveYou Utah boy’s rock!
Glad to see you guy’s over here. We do not run stock moto yet, but you guys seemed to perform pretty well after adjusting a few things back out of your motors. Did you see a big performance advantage with the allowances here? Just curious. (don’t want to start a debate at all, your guy’s just seem to perform very well!)
It was pretty cool seeing all the Gp karts lined up at once, wasn’t it? (for those on Gp that is) And the Team that rocked on the track and looked very proffesional as well. Good work!
Look forward to seeing you again.
Suppose we don’t have anything to complain about with getting home. Thanks for making the trip!
Rick

ParticipantYOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME!!
Yes its great everyone made it home safe and sound and it would put a great damper on the good times had at the event if not all of us made the trip home. I’m looking for details.
I’m here chompin’ at the bit waiting for the first event to get over with so I can get the results from you guys. (this is me whining, can you tell?) What happened? Who took the wins? Who was robbed a podium finish by a late race move? Did anyone wind up on their lid this time?

ParticipantMichael,
I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that Team Arrow/Rotax made a good showing while awaiting your return to our ranks. Pat took P1 in TaG Junior, while Diz Desanti was doing double duty in the TaG Senior (where he put up a good fight with the young Turks despite some mechanical problems) and TaG Masters classes, where he finished on the podium in P3. :sun:
You were in our collective thoughts not only at the drivers meeting, but through the many racers who were wearing stickers with your name and number, and thanks for the service you’re putting in for all of us. (I believe credit for the stickers goes to Curt Kistler, though I’m sure I’ll be corrected if I’m confused on that point–I’ll blame it on sleep deprivation from the long weekend and drive home!)
Stay safe!

ParticipantMichael:
I’ll give you a brief synopsis of all the late moves and such (and please forgive me if I’m wrong – I’m just callin’ it like I saw it)
TaG Senior: Kyle Ray and (?) Mitch Cobb had a nice battle for P1 and a dive on the inside in the first few laps put them both off track and towards the back (about 20 seconds off the lead). Both battled back to the front and Kyle passed Julie J in the last two laps to take P1. Heck of a comeback!
ICC Pro: Going into the first two corners the field was two abreast in both corners and one of the Snyder boyz flipped his kart and brought out the ambulance and a red flag. The restart was uneventful and Lorenzo checked out (smooooooooooooth) but Kyle Ray came through the “esses” and hopped a curb, got off line, off track and dug a wheel into the ground from the P2 position and flipped his kart. Kyle’s a little bruised but okay.
Spec Honda: Roger Bonham was in the lead for all 15 laps and in the last corner onto the straight came up on a back marker, took to the inside and his competition went to the outside. Roger was balked and lost P1 by half a kart length (see Mikka Hakkinnen vs. Michael Schumacher at Spa in ?99 and you’ll get the gist)
Mini Max was awesome to watch as the class was bumper to bumper with a little bit of rubbin, bumpin and passin all the way to the end! Dem kids can drive!
There was one driver who kept jumping the curbs in the “esses” and his rear wheel studs sheared off. It was amazing watching that tire haul all the way to the first corner and not hit anyone, more amazing watching the kart do a few 360’s in the dirt. Quite entertaining!!!
That’s all I can tell ya. I was in the pits working on my kart the rest of the time!
BTW… There was a REAL GOOD race in the pits to drink COLD beer after saturday’s practice and race. That was the best race of all. In fact the beer too cold and some got cramps. The peanuts and burritos were also good. And we found a nice hole in the wall called Tequila’s by the mall that serves GREEEEEAAAAAT margarita’s and killer carne asada and pollo asada. We went there twice just to make sure we weren’t dreaming the first night…
So… How are those dates and MRE’s? 😆May 9, 2006 at 3:22 pm #53692Angie MacEwen
ParticipantThe race results are on MyLaps. I actually uploaded as the race went on…..

ParticipantHey Mike,
Here’s a shot of the sticker we ran. But I’m peeling it off when you start racing with us again!
