Hi all. My 13 year-old son is interested in racing karts. It looks like the football career was not his thing. I have been doing a lot of reading on the different web sites, but I am still confused about what kart would best fit him and what class.
I think the TAG Jr class would be the best fit, but I hear more and more about the 4-cycle class is growing.
I need some advice on what class would be the best for a beginner racer and what used kart I should be looking for. Should I be looking for a sealed engine or not? I would like to purchase a race-ready Kart. I have had one shop point me in the derection of the Leopard engine.
Thanks in advance on your advice.
Dave.

Your best bet right now is go with the TaG Jr package. Either the Rotax or Leopard. Both have advantages and disadvantages but given that you’re a newbe, they don’t really matter.
