Congratulations to Roman and Rick for their win this weekend. The TaG Master was the biggest class with 18 entries and everybody was lapping within 2 seconds of the leader. There are several new karters in this group and they will be getting faster as they get more experience, so the class will get even tighter.

    Thanks Charles,

What a great time! It may be the most fun we’ve had at a race. Not from a points or finishing position but just having fun racing. The track, with a few small tweaks was great (thanks A.J. and Doug) I heard a lot of comments early on, that there would be no passing area’s. Looks like our class did’nt think so. You drove from 16th to 6th (10 positions! count em’) and were only a little over a hundreth off fast race lap. Ken Petrie took his Sonik 13th to 4th in a great drive!

And, how can’t you help but love Ron Reed? For the first time in racing I had the feeling that if we faltered and could not maintain the lead, I would still be ecstatic in the end! That was weird. I saw a different side of Brad, what an oppurtunity he gave Ron & family, and he gave a driver who was unfamiliar with the package, a great chance to podium in a very competitive class. Good to see Brad (get some sun screen) so into the race as well, he is still very cutting edge in capability and I think Ron could “drive the wheels off” of anything. Potent combo. Not too often you spin and still finish like he did.

The new guys are getting up to speed pretty fast and showed some great sportsmanship and judgement on track. With limited passing flag’s (more than usual though) thrown a little early at times, the drivers stayed aware of what was coming behind them and for the most part kept it clean, except for Samu’s deal and that really wasn’t a new driver.

I think as the year progresses, we are going to see some the tightest competitive racing in this class.

Missed Mikala cheering from the infield! Maybe those days are gone!

Curt totally had the safety part of this thing down! Did you see the last Kid Kart into the bales at turn #1? A pretty significant head whip to say the least, Curt was there before all of the straw had hit the ground, keeping the young racer secured in his kart till help arrived.

It was a fun event that came off very well in a few short months. It was cool seeing track owners out having fun and not working. Some fans. Duff was over there reviewing simular information over and over again with the same passion everytime.

Rusty can breath again. The naysayers can start holding their breath. Drew rocked!

    It was cool!

    Rick
