At 6,035 feet above sea level, karter’s gathered this weekend at PPIR for a racing event like no other, and Pikes Peak Kart Racing Club (PPKRC) wanted to take a moment to recognize and thank all of those who made this weekend a success! From the tireless volunteers, to the racers and their families, from the donors to the staff at PPIR ~ it is with much gratitude that we thank you!

PPKRC partnered up with the D49 Patriot Learning Center where we had over 40 high school student volunteers who helped bag the bales of straw in the parking lot of the Pikes Peak Community College in Falcon, Colorado. The time and labor intensive project took only 40 minutes!! Can you imagine how long it would’ve taken our core group of 6 to bag those bales solo?? Definitely an all nighter, so a big thanks goes out to the students at the Patriot Learning Center for giving PPKRC a chance to sleep last Wednesday night!

With our future plans of developing the Youth Sponsored Racing League™ (YSRL), we worked closely with Tom Wilke, Assistant Principal of the Patriot Learning Center, to hand pick eight youth from their program to be onsite at our event Friday, Saturday and Sunday where they were able to give their time and energy to a program they are interested in becoming a part of and the interest created in those kids to get into karting was phenomenal! Looks to be the start of our YSRL™.

With safety being ever close to our hearts this year, a big thanks goes out to the City of Fountain Fire Department who donated an ambulance and two EMTs for the whole weekend! Part of their philosophy is to actively participate in their community and to serve as role models, and in our opinion, mission accomplished! Thanks for making our event safe!

We want to thank Rancho Liborio for donating an amazing fajita meal that fed all racers and their families Saturday night! The atmosphere in the garages at PPIR was one of camaraderie and unity as racers worked on their karts, enjoyed a cold one and ate together at the culmination of a successful day of test and tune! And to M & H Catering for donating meals to the PPKRC staff both days and donating to the volunteers on Saturday! Your generosity was very much appreciated!

A warm thanks to Bob and Paul at PPIR for providing a world class racing facility with amenities that people are still talking about, primarily electricity in the garages, great race surface and bathrooms! We appreciate your continued belief in us and our ability to put on a safe and fun event!

Thanks to Andrea, Chip and Mike from The Track, whose experience and energy added to the professional image portrayed at the race!

And last, but certainly not least, with gratitude we want to thank all the racers who came to this event to support our newly formed club and who gave us a chance to prove that we are capable of putting on a professionally run event at a professionally run track! The energy and spirit the reverberated throughout the weekend at PPIR was there because of each of you!

The future is bright for karting in Southern Colorado!

See you at the next race!

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT FOR ALL OF COLORADO KARTING.
The last couple of years theres been a lot of whining, about the split in Colorado Karting,
J.K. Has already managed to get together 95% of Colorado Karters once a year at Pepsi Center. Now PPKRC as the Switzerland of Colorado Karting is offering the opportunity to do that at least another couple of times a year. From the outset PPKRCs #1 objective, UNITE COLORADO KARTING.
It is up to the Karters as Individuals, irrespective of series or track they support, to come and PLAY with PPKRC. Am I a member of PPKRC? NO.
But I sure will be next year

    Gunter
