ModeratorDoes anyone know what gearing to run at Grand Junction? I have an 18T drive gear, any ideas on the big gear? I don’t want to end up on the western slope without the right gears. Thanks.

ParticipantHey Danny!
We’ve never been to Grand Junction before, so I’m only going off of what I’ve been told by those more knowledgeable than me, but we’ll be running a 66-tooth gear, the same as at IMI. However, this is for Junior 1 Cadet, and we are restricted to the use of 66 or 69-tooth gears only. I’m not aware of the rules for 206 Heavy. But, Grand Junction apparently has a long straightaway, and a smaller gear than what you ran at SBR will be better.

ModeratorThanks Jim.
I should have added that one reason I made this post is that I just purchased my first LO206 at the SBR race two weekends ago so I do not have any gears and need to buy them. So, after getting varying feedback from multiple sources I have purchased all odd numbered gears from 65 to 73 and hopefully I will find a good gear to run in that range. Hopefully I am in the right range and if not, I hope the track doesn’t run out of the proper gear to run!
Thank you for your input and thanks to everyone else for their feedback (because I know a couple of you lurk here and will read this, you know who you are).
Thanks!
