just wondering if anybody out here would be interested in dirt racing here in Colorado? It was pretty big here about 15 years ago and it died off. I am trying to bring it back to life, I just want to see if there is any interest in it here anymore.

There are a few people here that are interested in dirt karting! I know that there is a page for Mile High Outlaw Karters, and they seem intent on building a group of people interested in those (they are really cool!). Here’s their page: https://www.facebook.com/Mile-high-outlaw-cage-kart-racing-558200974381711/
There is also some talk (don’t know a contact unfortunately) about some dirt kart racers out near Fort Morgan.
Lastly, there will be a dirt kart race during Kersey Days this year. If interested, reach out to us here at The Karter ([email protected]) and I can get you in contact with Henry Korn and Zac Dieter, who are two sprint kart racers who are working hard to drum up interest from people for this event.

Ideas on kinds of racing? (classes)
Most dirt oval is Clone based as well as with the Predators which now includes the new Ducar 212. 206’s are starting to make a big entry into the LTO world as well.
LTO chassis are going to be the hardest item to acquire figuring everything is sprint here.
Coming from the south I’d like to see somewhere at least try or open up the idea of dirt oval so I can help out on this if needed. Expectation vs. reality might be spread pretty far. It’s a whole different animal and style which will be hard to introduce but with time and effort, could produce a decent turnout.
Only thing I stress is try to stay away from a tire prep program. That’ll drive away the crowd instantly once they realize how much time/money it takes to get a good program set up.August 8, 2017 at 7:24 pm #68290Dirtracer18ParticipantI want to set up a meeting soon and sit down and get some ideas for classes, I know there are few older karts racing at I-76 speedway. I am going to go to kersey days this Friday night because, they are racing karts on the dirt there. I want to see what everyone has for karts and motors. please go like the facebook page milehigh outlaw cage kart racing. we could definitely use some help organizing the club and getting it going.

I went and liked it. Definitely need to sit down and talk about it. I don’t come from the Cage Karts…so I can’t offer much experience on that but the rest of LTO dirt oval I can.
Michael Lechman is the gentleman that gets the I-76 races set up. It’s all for fun but they seem to have a great time.
I would be more than happy to sit down whenever and chat with anyone/everyone about it.
Just note, what you see at Kersey Days doesn’t mean those are the only motor platforms people have. There’s plenty of us that have flatties/ohv’s/2 pokers/rotary and much more. Just never have had a place to run them. Plus a few of us can offer motor building seminars on multiple platforms as well.August 8, 2017 at 9:12 pm #68292Dirtracer18ParticipantI will definitely keep you posted. I do understand the kersey days rwb type racing. my whole plan is to get a place to race and make it as affordable as possible so the whole family can enjoy it if they want.

I started racing in the Kersey Day’s go kart race a few years ago and it has slowly grown and gets even more fun than the year before! if we could get more karts out there I think it would be such a blast for everyone. They have adjusted some of the classes this year because we are getting more and more karts to come out. Hopefully in the next coming years we can run multiple races a year and have specific classes. I for one run a TAG kart for the race and last year we had about 3 or 4 TAG’s and 3 shifters come out. We kept up pretty well with the shifter guys.
August 9, 2017 at 9:08 pm #68294Dirtracer18ParticipantI am so glad to hear the interest is growing again, I would love to get it going strong again. I will be out at Kersey days and would like to chat with everyone.
