ParticipantAngie:
Did they Tech Troy Howell in TaG Masters? He must have been using some of that Garwood fuel! That’s got to be a kart record for time and speed at Bandimere! Wow…

ParticipantAll 3 tag classes had run away victories. The one common thread, they all had Shockwave Karting stickers on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I just had to throw that in. Hats off to David Zippie in Tag Junior and Justin Simonson in Tag Senior. Both had their first wins in their respective classes. It must have been a weekend for first time winners. Troy just had one of those days we all wish we had.
I just checked MyLaps. I see why Troy was so quick. His best lap time was 15 seconds @ 144 mph!!!! Now that’s flyin!

InactiveFirst of all I want to congratulate my son on his first CSC win in his rookie season. I can’t tell you how proud I am of him. Good job David
Now I must say this. One thing I learned in our first year you can’t do this on your own. We had so much help this year, I can’t begin to list everyone. I am not sure there would be enough room on this post to name everyone. I do however want to mention a few.
First of all I would like to thank all of our fellow racers for giving us help during the year. (Way to many to mention) From Marc Elliott who has given us advice to Joe Rigali who has been pitting next to us and has helped us out tremendously. I want to thank Larry Toby for his help. We had some problems on Saturday with our axle and he was in our pits giving us advice and helping us out. We are racing with your son in a tight race and here you are helping us out. Larry, your a class act. Thank you.
Second I want to thank all the track owners and their staff. From Leroy and Richard at Grand Junction who helped us with parts and welding to all of the front range owners who have done the same.
Now to Doug and Greg Welch of Shockwave Karting. We are honered to be on the Shockwave team. For us to be doing as well as we are in our rookie season, I don’t think it is a coincidence that we are on a Shockwave chasis. Doug you and your chasis are the best in the business. Thank you for everything.
Lastly but not certainly not the least I want to dedicate this win to JB, Donnie and all the staff at Bandimere. You guys were with us from the beginning and did everything you said you were going to do. From service to racing advice and standing behind your products. It’s ironic that last year at this time my son and I were one of the dreaded renters at Bandi the day before the state race. We actually tried the lepards for the first time. Oblivious of what was going on. The next day we showed up to watch the CSC race. I was stunned at what I saw and thought there is no way this would or could be us. One year later at the same race we took home the first place trophy in our division. This is not even a dream come true because it was way to off the radar screen to even be a dream. So JB, Donnie this ones for you. To win our first race at Bandi is something special that we will never forget.

ParticipantNow those are the kind of posts that I like to see… Great job! I wish we could keep all posts on a positve note like this one…..

ParticipantI thanked JB towards the end of the day and told him congrats on a well run day. Staging and prestaging went well and kudos once again to the flag crew. I got home at a reasonable time and didn’t know what to do with myself.
Again, good job JB, Sue, Ann Louise and the crew. And the weeping puddle made for dirty visors. 8)

Troy lost his transponder partway through the race, so that is why his laptimes were wacky at the end!
On that note, people should place a zip tie around the transponder for extra security. We have holes drilled in the sidepod on either side of the bracket to put the zip tie on the whole thing. The track owners let us use these things, and they are not cheap to have repaired!
Congratulations to everyone on some great racing!
– yes, I am working on the points now :type:

InactiveThanks Action Karting.
We had our junk packed by 3:30 and got to sit and watch a lot of finals on Sunday. One of the most enjoyable days of racing in the years we have been envolved in karting.
Thanks again.
Bill Ray
P.S. You tag senior guys looked like you had just a bit too much fun at the trophy presentation. So for the race at The Track we will have a guest appearance by a former track record holder in this state driving the #58 Rocky Mountain Kartworks, Motori 7, GP6. 😯 And no its not A.J. or Kyle.

ParticipantBill,
You just need to hang 50# on the seat, and get some negitive castor in her, and we will bring the seat insert. 😛Just :bs: ing here. Can’t wait to see the “Secret Weapon” at The Track.
Congratulations Kyle, if my math is correct, you are the MAN in 2006!
Just think how fast you would have been on one of those black chassis’ I keep reading about!

If I’ve learned anything, fast guys are fast regardless of the color of the tubes. I heard there was time in a neck coller this weekend.

InactiveOunces mean everything Doug. I think his fastest time of the day was with that borrowed neck collar. That thing wreaked of some sort of smell, sort of like a starting fluid smell. 😯
Maybe it wasn’t Garwood’s fuel, maybe it was his neck collar.
I think I am on to something here. Don’t tell the tech guy.

ParticipantRats, another go fast secret is out!

ParticipantHey, don’t thank me for running the race, blame it all on Rusty Newberry, I was busy helping racers with their Kart problems and had little to do with the whole thing. Cudos go to Rusty and the well trained staff, every one knew what they was supposed to do and did it well.
Thank all of you for leaving your pit spots clean, I had nothing to pick up so I put a couple beers down with a great bunch of dedicated racers —- and their Dads.No complaints on this end, you people are GREAT !

Does the Guest driver have the Initials D.C. by chance?:)
