There was a thread yesterday about purchasing transponders. Well, where would one look to get one? If we have our own is there a reduction of entry fee? Someone said Brad has some newfangled technology that he is going to “talk about”. (Brad sorry to single you out if this is incorrect)

    Information please…

AMB transponders such as we use at our races can be purchased from a number of sources. I got mine on EBay.

Either JB or Brad can special order one for you I’m sure.

You want the TranX 160. It currently retails new for 212.00 USD (thanx to a strong Euro) according to the AMB web site. That includes a mounting braket and a charger. You may find them cheaper on the street, especially used or from older inventories.

This will likely work for you anywhere you go in North America or in the world for that matter. All tracks in Colorado (including steamboat) will support it as will tracks closer to us such as BlackRock, etc.

PS: Don’t balk at the price – I just paid $85 for an AMB transponder for my RC car. It’s the size of a postage stamp and doesn’t run off it’s own battery. THAT’s steep!

    Hello Mike,

We have our first race of the year at Loudon NH (1.6 mile track-SWEET!). One of the track rules is that, you must have your own trnasponder. I purchased mine directly from AMB. There web site is http://www.amb-it.com, look for the USA contact phone number and they send it out that day! It comes with a clip and a wall charger. You get your own transponder code, which is nice if you go to a big race such as Rock Island, but 130 karts out for the first CSC race is incredible.

Good luck with that pretty blue kart, mine is only one out of three around here. Make sure you push Jim “Dog House” K out of the way with that silly little Sonik engine in Tag class.

    Regards Greg Gherasim

    Greg,

Thanks for the information! Chaz too!

Louden sounds wonderful. Enjoy the karting season there and make GP proud. You have a better chance than the Red Sox 😆

Keesling and I were bumping all the way around the track with me the worse of it. I’ll get him next time. It was pretty amazing seeing that many people there. I can only imagine what GJ and IMI will have for attendance. I know of several who skipped due to rough track conditions. They didn’t want to ruin equipment for the national racing series.

Give em hell out there, your still a Colorado Karter in my eyes.

    Mike,

When you get a chance go to F1Outdoors.com. This will be the track the majority of the races will be held this year. The only problem is practice is only on Tuesday 5:00 pm to dark, and Saturday morning 9:00am til 12:00 noon because of noise and the agreement the track settled with the locals (a little bit of Grand Junction in Boston). Racing is on Sunday!!

Check Jim’s fuel tank in Tag, I think he running some illegal sailboat gas.

    Regards, Greg.

    Hey Greg,

Good luck on your first race of the season…. Has it stopped snowing long enough for you to get your kart out of storage and run some laps? Good luck bud..
