    Greg, and the Track Owners-

I’m still confused about the status of the 4 stroke senior class in this state.

For the IMI club races, what happens if Brad finishes a deal with MG for tires, and that becomes the spec tire there too? Brad’s recent post implied that the door may not be closed with MG yet. If that was a major stumbling block with the CSC, what will be the group’s reaction at IMI?

Also, what engine rules will we be running at IMI? Nothing posted as far as I can tell.

And for CRE, what class will we be running? The only posted 4 cycle senior class is World Formula. I doubt that WKA will allow a mixed bag class like the CSC ran last year. So how are Lim Mod Animals, WFs, stock Animals, Blue Wazooms, and misc. flatheads all going to run? Do we have the requisite 4 racers with any one of these engines to start a class? I assume we have enough limited modifieds (this may be a bad assumption), but what will happen to the others? IMI only? And by the way, CRE specs SL-4 Dunlops for the WF class, so the spec tire issue doesn’t look like it’s going away there.

What class and rules will Bandimere run for their special events (if any)?

For the record, I have no problem with joining SKUSA even if the 4 cycle class was “local option”, and I have no problem with buying a spec tire (except that I’d like to run MG Oranges for a little longer life). Those “extra” costs are minor in the overall budget. I am disappointed that I had no input or information about the abandonment of the 4 cyc sr. class until it was (apparently) a done deal. I really wanted to race at GJMS and Steamboat.

I have a co-worker who is getting back into 4 strokes this year who is disappointed also, as a multi-track state championship was very appealing. I’d guess that there other newbies looking in who think the same way.

There are many great things about the 4 cycle class. It’s relatively cheap for one (or at least can be with a good set of rules). It’s a great place to learn to race. Family members can run the same or similar engines, doubling the savings. And from what I saw last year, the racing and comraderie are fantastic. All of this is why I decided not to run a shifter for now.

This is a class we need to promote to potential new racers, not abandon. Let’s keep organized, before this goes the way of the KT and we have no low cost class at all.

Kurt, The rules for this class are available from Bobby at IMI, The class at CRE is called the Animal Modified. The rules are the same.We will be on the track w/ the WF’s. It was the csc board who cancelled this class not us.We had some issues. The spec tire rule was not the only issue.CRE spec tire is SL-4, we got em.If IMI spec’s a tire, we’ll have them too. Dont worry this motor package is here to stay.Skusa had nothing to offer us Briggs racers for $125.00 PERIOD…………………….

Don’t get disgruntled Kurt. The nothing you will get for the CSC membership is a rule book, race director, tech director, insurance, IMI, Bandi, GJ, and Steamboat, 150+ racers, 100+ spectators watching you, road trips with the family, Angie in the scoring booth, an anouncer with a real PA system…
    Should I go on?

Just for the record. The CSC did not cancel the Briggs class. The sponsor for the class pulled out, and also many of the Briggs racers made it clear that they were not going to participate in the CSC. If six guys and/or gals send in their membership forms, then we will be more than happy to have a Briggs class. I did not post the rules and class details, because it seemed obvious that there were not going to be enough for a class, and I did not want someone showing up at the first race expecting there to be one. The CSC treated this class the same as all of the others, with all of the same benefits (except those two races), and all of the same requirements to be met. The decision was made to not give any exceptions on the spec tire – for many reason, the largest of which, it could void our agreement for getting kickback for SPEC tires. Sorry it came down to this, but we just can’t give special treatment to one class.

I don’t want to fight over this, it is silly… but Greg, don’t put this all on the CSC just because it didn’t give in.

Easy Greg. As a friend of Kurt, and a Colorado Karter, I will always have a dog when it comes to supporting the CSC. Don’t compare anything that happened last year to this year. The CSC is taking major steps to make things better as they see fit. Yes, someone always get’s hurt and not everyone is going to be happy with the decision making process. Making changes is something all clubs, business, government and just about every other entity needs to do to survive. Hell, even Freezman is going to shift gears this seson I understand.
Sounds to me like Kurt is trying to fit into something affordable so he can participate in the CSC. I personally want to see all of you come back and race. Don’t let your energy go south, get together with your peers and find a way to race the CSC.
I’ll bet after you do the math on all the other stuff the $125.00 looks like a bargin.

Greg, I still don’t understand what the issues are, especially if one of them isn’t spec tires. The $125? WKA has a fee too, though it’s less. What else? Let’s be specific and get it out in the open.

Angie, is the lack of a sponsor a problem if we come up with 6 racers?

Skipper: I’m in. I was just going to post the same challenge. My $’s are on the way. I’ll work on a buddy here at work that wants to run this class also. Thanks!

Also, Angie, could you post the proposed engine rules? Just put a big disclaimer on the post to avoid confusion. Thanks.

Kurt get 5 more by Friday night or I am going to let my motor go on ebay. No presure Ha Ha. I am all set up to race this class, I sent all winter building my new kart and motor. I have been testing for 4 weakends now, but I am about out of time on getting another motor package and do some testing by the 17th.

Good luck, and Lets Go Racing.

Personally, I like the switch to MG yellows. I think it is a better tire than the dunlop DBMs we ran last year. We are excited to be running them in Jr1 (4 bangers). Why would tires be an issue?
