ParticipantThe Colorado Sprint Championship has decided to go with the Box Stock Sealed Comer K80 for the Junior 1 – K80 class. The motors can be purchased from any of the CO tracks or shops ( that have them), and be sealed by them. A receipt and/or record of the transaction (where it was purchased and sealed, serial number, etc.) will be required. All motors must be “C” cylinders and must be run totally stock. No modifications at all. Age group 7-11, weight 225lbs. Spec gear possible (TBA).
Since we have the Jr 1 Animal for 8-12 year olds, and the Mini Max and Novice 80 Shifter for the 9-13 year olds at slightly faster speeds, we need to focus this class on the kids moving out of the Kid Karts. This gives the kids a good step up toward the faster classes.
For those interested in participating in this class, please contact me as soon as possible. Angie 970-204-4430 [email protected]

ParticipantSo much for rules same as last year. Glad we are running STARS. Two weeks away from first CSC race and this great decision without talking to the racer or there parents.
Brian Moore,
Father of Brandon #67 STARS cadet, Possible novice shifter driver or notP.S. Glad I did not send in my money and agree to rules that were not even written. Why did I even bother to go to the meeting at I.M.I. ? Racer input dosen’t matter I guess????

ParticipantBrian,
First, congats on the good show with STARS this weekend!!
If 6 K80s had signed up, ready to run last year’s rules… that is what we would have done. But with one signed up, and very little interest in the class, this is the time to make this change. This change would have come next year anyway.
sorry for the inconvenience. You mentioned getting a Mini Max for Brandon to race here…. do it! It would be great fun to have another runner in there.

ParticipantAngie,
First Thank You on the congradualations.
One person signed up? Correct. I would have signed up if rules were in place which is very evident in my posts. However the CSC is now taking one more step backwards in my opinion. No rules=no racing. I have already made the decision that since no rules are out at this point, that we will not be racing in Grand Junction. “SORRY Stacey love your track and would love to help to support you as well” I am not a gambler, but would venture to guess this years turnout for the races is going to be dramatically lower. WHY? Three jr1 classes??? How does the CSC justify that??? I would understand if the CSC said not enough participation in the comer class to justify racing that for jr1. Less classes with more participants would add value to a championship. Maybe I will be making money off the CSC’s decision instead of racing and spending money.
