InactiveNeed a good rib protector….looking at the Sparco one but no one keeps it in stock, and i’d like to buy one for this weekend. Anyone sell them at a pretty good price? Have one used?
Anyone recommend a particular brand? Id like one that has back support as well as ribs.
Peace………….. 😛

Participantif you really want rib protection i would strongly suggest AGAINST the Sparco protector. It’s like cotton candy and you’ll be sorry. Spend a little more $$$ and get a good one.
What type kart do you have?
My suggestions are Phoenix (IMI sells them) Shift has a nice one and I had my MP customized (added .125″ lexan over the outside of the rib protector since I pulled right side then left side muscles/ribs/bones in my first year 😥 )
Anyone else???

InactiveDriving an Easykart with the Freeline seat.
I have freeline inserts to cushion my hips, just need some good support up top.
I ran the whole weekend at Norman with no rib protector….
my ribs did not thank me at all 😥

InactiveAfter cracking 3 ribs my 3rd week with a cotton candy “rib protector”, I went with a Body Armor Protector. It consists of about 1/4 inch of polysomething, solid, but flexible sides and back, with a inner foam liner and suspender straps. Bullet proof protection! RBI carries them.
RibTech makes a similar new model and you could get overnight delivery, if you can’t find one locally.
Both are pricey, but worth every buck.

ParticipantCall Larry or I at the shop tomorrow and we will give you a price. The body armor is so good you can run with a knife in your side and still drive without pain.
