ParticipantScottyBobby, Let’s start with the crew chief question: I can only speak for myself..YES I have a crewchief. She turns 7 this Saturday.
OK, seriously, it is just nice to have someone in the pit with you to help lifting the kart on/off the stand, helping you turn wrenches, handing you beers at the end of the day, etc. So bring a buddy.
Go to the race at IMI on Sunday and just walk around asking a bunch of questions, everyone is very eager to help someone who is new to this sport. Welcome to Colorado Karting.

InactiveBring your notepad to IMI on Sunday and stop by and talk to the racers. They will give you a lot of info. 42 yrs old big deal I am 61 and have raced for 11 yrs. The tag masters is the largest and best group out there. See ya Sunday. Most of us race a 125 cc motor, very little racers in the 100 cc category.

InactiveHey guys, thanks for all the replies, greatly appreciate it. Not sure if I can make it to the track on sunday though I’m on duty at the firehouse and the vacation time is already taken. I did plan on taking my kart to Bobby at IMI monday morning so they can inspect it and tell me what I need to do to make it race legal for next year. Of course I plan to start practicing once I get the kart squared away and would be happy to meet any of you for a day of practice so you can school me. I think I will practice a bit with the 100cc and decide if I want to go to the 125, approx how many people are in the 100cc class? Thanks again for the willingness to help, wasn’t sure what to expect. Good luck to all of you Sunday!

ParticipantYour very welcome, not sure about the 100CC class however the Tag Master class, which is the largest, could field from 15 to 28 entries. I will be at IMI from time to time during the off season, let me know when your coming down and I’ll see if I can come down.
