I’ve been looking at either the MyChron 3 Gold or one of the EV3 models for data aquisition for ’04.
Rod: Track Mapping is only available in the higher-end MyChron 3 and th EV series. They utilize a combination of inputs from accelerometers and speedometers. As I understand the systems, you can get maps based on how you drive and can overlay maps to check consistency. The maps are also broken up into splits by the accelerometers so you can home in on problem stretches very quickly.
Besides the maps you also get graphing, but no traction circle. A TC would be way cool, but ……..
I’d love to have a sit-down with a product rep to learn more. If we can make it happen, you guys can count me in.

To my understanding even the mycron makes a track map based on a G force sensor imput of a run preformed on track.
To me that would mean that a map from any thing other than your kart would have some kind problem?
I sure don’t know as my track mapping system has been plaged with magneto noise from my darn briggs motors.
Does the mycron provide histreograms or traction circles? I think the race studio soft ware has that?
I see in the snowmobile mags AIM also makes data systems for the cold and wet conditions. Are the kart models water proof or simular to the sled models? That would be nice in the case of rain conditions.
