That bend doesn’t sound right at all. If I’m visualizing this right, there’s no question that it should have broken – which, of course, is not what you want to happen.
On the bright side, it didn’t happen in a race.

The reason I say the strut looks weak is because the engine side seat strut has a 90 degree bend in it, that was bent using a crush bender (opposed to mandrel). Right at the bend, it is practically crushed flat. Its a very weak looking bend.
Then again, not sure if that was bent by the factory or if the previous owner bent it like that. :idn:
Other than that, the Gold chassis looks fairly solid.
