I don’t think double points is the way to go. The concept is good but the application of it for that particular race is not. I know it seems like it would be incentive for racers(CSC specifically) to want to come to Steamboat to up the kart count and add to this great event.
It appears that this event has the potential of becoming a smaller but as exciting yearly event as the old RMVR events. That means our friends from all across the country will want to make it a race they plan on attending year in and year out. What happens to the racer who has competed faithfully in all the races over the season and Steamboat is the final points race of the year and he gets taken out by the karter that just came to race cause it’s a great place to race? We may have to look at it as a great one off race similar to RIGP without the CSC points involvement.
Any thoughts?
