    +1 for a GP!

I have had two GP chassis in the last 5 years (with a Rotax, and now a Stock Moto) and can’t say enough about them. The trackside support you receive from AJ and the Kartworks crew is awesome, and what incited me in the first place.

+2 for GP. I’m on my third GP and the quality and support can’t be beat. Give AJ a call!

    Jordan,

From an unbiased pov (I raced an ITALKART chassis when I did race, and have friends that race both karts)

Both are karts that have great reputations around the world of karting. But Im guessing that your not planning on competing in the upcoming CKI season (if there is a CKI) next year.
Your looking to race and compete locally here in Colorado, so heres a little info on the 2 frames here in Colorado.

The Birel is supported by Dog House Racing at the Track at Centennial. DHR has something like 15 plus drivers on the red Birel chassis. Ben S took his Birel kart this year and won the Pepsi Center race in TaG Sr, and I believe he won the championship in the same class in the Race the Rockies series.

The G.P is easily the most raced chassis on any given raceday in Colorado, excluding the Colorado Junior Karting club series. G.P is maintained and supported in Colorado by AJ Noud and Rocky mt Kartworks. G.P competes at the most races in Colorado so you’ll have AJ and the team at any event your at.

Both are great kart’s, and in a perfect world with an unlimited bank account, I can say it wouldn’t be an easy choice for me to make as which kart I would put my butt in.

Good luck with your selection, Im sure you’ll be happy with what ever you choose, until you see the bill…… 😆

    Best

    Hi Jordan,
Come on by and we can help you with your needs. Tony, who seems to know everything, is way off base.
The Track at Centennial sells and services Birel. It is one of the top brands in the world. They just won the WKA Constructors Championship 3rd time in a row, nationally.
Locally, we have many customers that race on a Birel, test and tune with the equipment and have no desire to race, but just love it, and the race team “Dog House Racing” which uses Birel, is by far not the end use. Ben, who is the Tracks chassis tuner, has put William Owen, first year racer on the pole, and two front rows in all the races with a Birel in TaG Senior. Ben is usually way out in front showing what the product can do. But race results, as you know, are not anyway near telling the whole story. The Track at Centennial sells Birel because the importer, MRP stocks over 2 million dollars worth of equipment, and we can get anything you need overnight, if we are out. Please ask that question to whoever you want to do business with.

Service and availability. Just ask around. And ask any of the racers that actually race. But on the same end, ask a GP, they will say GP. Ask a Tony, he will say a Tony. Ask a CRG, he will say CRG. Ask an Arrow, they will say Arrow. Everyone who bought a kart will give you their answer, so it’s up to you to decide. Any one brand is going to have a chance to win.

Good luck shopping, we would be glad to help in anyway!

Jordan, Just my two cents worth, I’ve owned and raced both. I don’t think you can go wrong with either chassis. I currently run GP’s (4 of them), and had 4 birels a couple of seasons ago. So no matter which chassis or shop you choose I don’t think you’ll go wrong. Probably the biggest reason to choose one or the other will depend on where you plan on racing, and what engine you plan on running.

Whats wrong with the Italkart? If it were me I would save my money unless of course the chassis is worn out. I have never owned an Italkart however those chassis are very good and ran well in all the classes that raced at Stars.

Just a suggestion, test drive before you buy….

CRG, Birel, GP, Arrow, Intrepid, Sodi or a new Ital etc. It all comes down to support and personal preference.. As you may know, the great thing about Colorado karting, we have many options, good shops and good support on the top kart chassis in the world.

    Good Luck

What ever you have or get, I would be glad to jig it up on my table to check if it’s conditioning might need some help to ware out the racer.

Thank you very much for all of the info. The main reason I want to sell off the Italkart is that the GP and Birel offer lots of trackside support in CO.
    Jim,
Trust me I noticed that Will went to the top of the charts in his first year. Shoot at the beginning of the year I finished in front of him and at the end of the year I could not keep up with him. I will stop by the track some time this week to chat with you guys.
Thanks again for all of the help.

    Jordan,
You plan to participate in the Race The Rockies series, that means Rotax and that could lead to attending the Nationals. So I suggest that whichever brand of chassis you decide on that you buy the complete package from one dealer. Then you will have priceless trackside support, knowledge and experience.Look at the results even at club level, podiums dominated by dealer teams, its their job, their livelyhood.

Eddy W. said try it before you buy it.
Wouldnt that be a good idea? I have used the same brand of kart for six years and wouldnt mind trying something else. I already sense that quite a few karters are looking to change their packages in the off season. Most of the top brands are represented in Co.,Arrow, Birel,
CRG, GP, Sodi, Intrepid. How about the kart dealers get together and organise a Mini Kart Expo/Track day.Show the customers what you got to offer.

At the last club race of the season at TTAC, it was a Sodi kart on pole both days in Tag SR. At the Pepsi center race in Tag Sr, the fastest lap of the day went to a Sodi. At both races, there was only one Sodi kart in the field.

Let me ask a simple question, you want to follow the field or lead it?
