InactiveIn addition, what are CSC thoughts on TAG racers running several “different” engines within the same TAG classes; IAME Leopard motor at one track and a Rotax motor at another (the portmanteau name: Leotax or Ropard motor class)? Doesn’t TAG USA rules, which I thought CSC followed only allows two motors but of the same make? Is CSC making an exception on this?

ParticipantFor what its worth.
Count me and most of the guys I know out.

InactiveJust for the record, I am not suggesting this, since in my opinion this goes against the intent of the class by further raising the cost of competing within any TAG class. But this is what is occurring this year. Although, I admit that I didn’t watch to the same degree the CSC TAG classes like I have this year, but I didn’t notice last year any of the TAG racers run a Rotax at one track and switching to a Leopard at the next track, like I have this year within the CSC. So I am simply asking: will this practice explicitly be allowed within CSC 2007? Obviously, it is this year but since I could not find it stated as either illegal or legal except for TAG USA which states something like two motors are allowed but of the same make, I just wanted to know will this practice be defined in writing in next year TAG rules?
Sorry and forgive the post being in the classified section, I didn?t pay attention to the original post.

ParticipantJack, count you out on two day events? or of the CSC no matter what?
Don, I don’t think TaG USA rules specifiy anything about series wide rules. The two engines is per race. I personally agree (meaning my opinion only) that a racer should get only one engine package for the series. Or at least, only one engine package change – for example, you blow up a Rotax and decide to go with a Leopard instead for the rest of the season, or something like that. But no switching back and forth depending on what track you are at. Something to think about, for sure, to keep costs down. What does everyone else think?
I would like to see 5 events, one at each track, one temp, no drops. If they are two day events, it should be one event, like Greeley. With Practice and Qual on Sat, Heat and Main on Sun. Again, my opinion.

ParticipantMy two cents:
I agree with Jack. Two race weekend, I’m not in favour. I like the one race @ each track no drops. And I believe we should have one engine for your campaign. If you change you stay with the second choice for the remainder of the season…

InactiveI also agree with Jack. Most of us have familys and other more important things to get done on the weekend. Sometimes we will need Saturday to get things done with the family so we can race on Sunday.
See everyone at The Track.
Jack, do you still have extra beer you need help getting rid of?!?!?

ParticipantI agree with Angie on 5 races, no drops and only one switch of engine package allowed for TaG.
I would like to see light and heavy classes for spec shifter. At the current weights, spec shifter is not an option for anybody over 190 lbs who wants to be competitive.
Finally, I think it’s really important to finalize the rules by the end of January. We need to have enough time to decide on plans for the racing season and get some testing in before the season starts.

InactiveNO DROPS!!!! What about the ones that need to work for a living? If their are no drops and for what ever reason you need to miss one race during the season then you are out of the point race. Not all of us are 15 and have nothing to do in the summer but race!!!
No drops mean no CSC for me and others I know!!

If you can’t make 5 CSC races then you should not be concerned about running for points. One drop would be 20% of the points with 5 races. How many people besides me work on Sundays anyway? If you miss one race you should be out of the points chase with only 5 races. Motocross has 25-30 races, no drops. If you are serious about the sport you will be able to make 5 races that are spaced out so there is at least a month between races.

InactiveI prefer the 8 or 9 races with 1 or 2 drops. I travel for work and will need to at least miss one race. I see what you are saying. But for me and a couple of other’s I know we will need at least 1 drop. Without it their would be no reason for us to compete in the CSC. We would still race, just not for CSC points.
Their is no way the CSC will be perfect for everyone. But when you start to limit the races and drops you will limit the people that can compete during the season. More races, more drops, more racers! I thought that is what we wanted??? :idn:
Just my thoughts.
DAMN RAIN!!! I wanted to check out the new curbs at The Track today.

ParticipantOnly one jr.1 class not three for 2007. Last but certainly not least a rule book written in black and white “not grey or downloaded from the internet” at least one month before start of racing season.

InactiveDon,
We were in favor of one engine type per season in the tag division, there was a discussion here, then it was shot down.
Mikey,
The fall Saturdays in my house are reserved for football. Gotta have your priorities.
Cutting the season in half would be nice.
Drop the “field factor points”, that was there to balance the east with the west in the old SKUSA.
Let the fast guys start in back and award passing points. That would be very interesting. That would show who can race and who can just go fast. If you race .2 faster than you qualify you get a penalty of some sort. If you blew qualifying, declare you self and start in the back.
Just some thoughts. Midget race got rained out so I guess I am bored.

ParticipantAngie.
Not the CSC. I love the competetion.
Just the two day events. I like one or two two day events, I just would not be able to commit to a whole season of them.
Really tough to fit in.

ParticipantThat is the best idea ever……..i mean, its not like we should really be taking this stuff F1-level serious. Sure, it is quite competitive, but i think it would just make for more fun and better racing to start the quick guys in back, see what happens, etc.
I believe a lot of midget races and sprints do the same right Bill?
Great thinking i just think personally.

ParticipantBill…..Good point about the football issue we too will be busy and hope to see ya at the games.
To the CSC:
I only posted this idea to see if there was any interest in changing the format not to make anyone mad. Those of you that know me know that I just cause trouble :argue
Sorry for posting this in the classified section…….my bad. 😳
