:usa: :co Yes, saw the great racing and adult numbers Since you have raced on the Mg reds would you kart have been quicker and easier to tune? Great to see Greg in a lot of karts.
Just a minor question not looking for a full om debate.

I have raced(a couple rust off races and practice) on stickier tires than the MG reds before. Not much different than any other tire. Setup is the key for anything. I can make the duros act just like MG reds or any other tire. The only difference in my opinion is the lap times. 😉 I think duro tires even out the field a little more than a stickier tire. Allows the setups to be a little more broad. Stickier tires require more fine tuned setups to work at their peak. Duro’s allow any driver to show up and be fast with minimal setup. Now, to run with the top guys setup totally matters for the Duros but at least you don’t need as much as a stickier tire. For a class like the Lo206 that prides itself in low cost of entry adding a stickier tire just doesn’t add the fun factor that a Duro tire does. IMHO. 🙂 Don’t get me wrong, I love the MG Series racing and had a BLAST but when you have 21 (updated count) show up to a race when the week before we only had 9. Speaks volumes in what the community really wants to see. 🙂 Just my humble opinion based on the data that has been presented so far. I hope both series grow as each adds a different FUN factor that I know I am looking for! If I want to race in nationals MG tires are the way to go. If I want to race on the cheap and still have the same amount of fun I put on the Duro’s. They each have their place. 🙂

In my position, I see all the racers when they come off the track. I have to say that I think the LO206 adults have more fun than I can remember of any race group I’ve seen. No matter how far back in the pack, there are high fives and back slapping from one and all. My impression is they just want to race someone. Winning and outright speed are not the issue, it’s the wheel to wheel action they crave. The fact that the motor requires no tuning and the chassis requires minimal tuning just adds to the excitement. I saw 10 year old chassis right in the middle of the battles.

Most of these guys have to go to work on Monday and the LO 206 on a hard tire doesn’t beat them up. No sore ribs come Monday morning. With the duro tire, you only need one set for the year. The motor lasts all year with only regular oil changes. I don’t know how you could make racing any cheaper yet so equal. It is exactly the right class for the adults who want to race but not spend much money. A big wallet is of no use in this class.

The racing is a joy to watch. There are packs of 3-4 racers all over the track. Passing is constant, often 2 or 3 times per lap, side by side through multiple corners the norm. Sometimes 3 wide. Kind of makes me wish I was racing and not watching.

For sure!!! This has been what I have tried to say before but just couldn’t find the words like you have Doug! Thank you! I mean I finished in 4th place in the heat race on Sunday and watched the top 3 have an epic battle. I was like just keep battling I am catching up!! lol We have SO much fun out there!!! I mean even the Saturday practice where everyone was helping everyone else get faster. That is what a community is all about! Thanks for spelling it out exactly what makes these Lo 206’s so fun! I mean I even got spun out (racing incident no hard feeling to all involved) and yet still had a BLAST trying to catch up to everyone. It is ALL about the racing and not winning. I mean I race in the light class weighing in at 360 on the scales. I know I am not going to win but if I can get up there with the top 3 that is my goal. It’s all about goals and self improvement and helping others in this class. So happy to be a part of it!

Sorry I missed the race on Sunday, looks like you guys had a blast. Had a great time on Sat. running competitive in the low 49’s. Great job Lee with organized practice, very smooth, safe and efficient. Got 4 sessions in before I left at 4:00pm Sat. Hope to see you all at IMI next month.
Good seeing and talking with Scott and All. Thanks so much Julie for getting the old guy registered.

    My Best,
    Eddy
