    Rick,

Are you sure? Are you referring to “TaG Masters TaG USA by weight 35+” or ” Masters (age 35+) ” from the posting on TTAC site? Have you confirmed this with Jim? Why would we after all this time not include everyone possible? That doesn’t make any sense. That is what makes TAG Master fun!! It has to be a just an oversight in the verbage.

It’s quit possible I am reading this wrong, if so, I am not the only one. There are some of the perennial Tag Masters racers who were somewhat disappointed Roman did not race that class last year. They wanted to shred him. As it should be. I think Roman, Chad, Jason, Tony and some of the others ( I know there are others but don’t know the names) that would be turned away by this new rule would make it a shame for the competition level of that class. You’ve beat us when we were on our game, probably felt good. I’ve had a few interesting conversations with racers since this came out, they wondered which racers wanted this?

Personally, I think Tag should be light and heavy and a maybe a true older (50 plus class?) run in conjunction with the Masters. I know I could stomp Roman at age 45 (if Lucy had a sense of humor) but closing in on my 50’s and if I were mid 50’s, I’m not so sure I could. And as you know we ran 2 classes to level the playing field for Romans older competitors. But everyone seemed to like racing against the fastest guys and some fall into the younger / heavier racer in the category in question.

It will be interesting to see if this is a typo and if not where the bulk of the Tag Master racers spend their money racing this year, it would be a shame to see those mid 20 kart fields broken up though.

If it is an oversight in verbiage, it would be in the series best interest to correct it promptly.

And I suppose choosing one of the Rotax series would take make a potentially ugly situation a non issue. All you have to do is show up for the qualifying races and concentrate on Norman.

    We’ll see.

I’m okay with the kids racing in Masters. I always have been and I championed them at the time when it came to Roman’s induction into the class.

My only current requirement is a few “dutch ovens” for the weighty competitors as a penalty.

    Oh Mike!

    You so funny πŸ˜†

You always have been looking out for all racers to race in a class they have a chance. And, there have been some mighty battles over the years.

Maybe lunch next week, just got out of the hospital after a couple days of testing. Rain check?

I pull this from tagusa web site and i believe IMI is under the same rules, so every thing looks as the previous years. or not? :loony:
TAG MASTERS ‐ ages 35 and up TAG Master’s drivers must be 35 years of age
before they may compete. A 200 lbs driver may run TAG Masters if he or she is
15 years of age and he or she weighs 200 lbs (minimum) post race on that race
    day.
This is solely at the discretion of the club, series and or race director

    Troy,
Option A. They will run together. If you are getting punches for Rotax, be in Rotax trim.
Angle, you get the award for actually reading. Classes follow TaG USA rules.

Tony, you have the option to race in
    1) TaG Master, 125 spec heavy or 125 Masters. DD2 Masters is the age class that is a true “Masters” class within either of the two series.

The only omission in the rules is front brakes. Allowed in TaG Senior and Masters without any weight change.

    Thank you.

My apologies for misunderstanding the rules.

Compared to previous years wording, it seemed ages were stated in the rules and Tag Usa was used for weights.

Going back and rereading, it is still appears 32+ vs 32+ / 15+

Yes, congratulations Angel, glad you weren’t confused πŸ˜‰ I’ll talk to you later.

    I guess?

At least there were others who were reading the 32+ thing the same way I was.
