ModeratorDo you know the coordinates of this track by chance? I have an extremely strange hobby, I love researching ghost tracks. Do you know what cross streets this was near? Do you have any other information on the track?

ParticipantIt was either on or very near Nelson Road, I don’t recall the cross street.
The odds are pretty high that Brad at IMI will know.

ParticipantMy bad, my above post was in regards to the track at Longmont.
Woody Creek Raceway is probably known and findable on Google Maps. I think they even have a website.

ParticipantDaniel, if you are interested in old tracks, and aren’t aware of this site, look up Old Kart Tracks & Karts on Facebook. Join the group, and become friends with Frank Viola, an Australian who is sort of a historic kart track archaeologist, for lack of a better term. He’s located over 900 old and current tracks in the US.

ModeratorJB, I have asked to join that group. It looks great!
Also, I am trying to find any evidence of that old Longmont track. It looks like it is partially an open field now, partially a Hobby Lobby, and maybe even partially a Sam’s Club now but I am not sure if I am looking at the right place or not.

ParticipantDaniel – This is what it looks like now (Longmont track location) – just west of Sunset St.

ModeratorJB, I was doing some searching back when this thread was active before and that is the location I identified and where I thought it was as well. Glad this thread has been revived! I have the oddest passion for learning about old abandoned race tracks!

ModeratorVideo of someone running a Rotax at Aspen Motorsports Park. They need to add a bus stop or chicance or inner loop to the back stretch and invite the karting tour out for some racing!

ParticipantWow, that video sure brings back memories!
Our Yamaha KT100 ran maybe 65 seconds in Super Stock Light back in the 1880s (not a typo).
Great stuff guys!

ParticipantI would say that video verifies what I said about how bumpy that track is, particularly for a kart.
