InactiveWere they equipped with front brakes? Maybe they couldn’t stop!:idn:
Bummer to hear that, wonder what the were after? Can’t get much in the back of a Wrangler. If they would have tried drag your safe out of there, they would be sitting out on the dirt road with a burned up clutch. Idiots. Good thing you have an alarm Brad and I’m glad they didn’t get anything. They would have to be on foot unless there was more than one car and it’s pretty rural out there, Did they go looking for them?
Was it the Sheriff and was their response good? I know nights we’ve stayed at the track, they were all over keeping an eye on things.
Anybody weird been in there lately? :bs:

InactiveLooking at the photo’s again, looks like they may have banged the fan into the radiator, maybe thats why they gave up.

ParticipantThey had another truck with them, there were burn out tracks in the snow. The alarm went off and they split fast. I was there 10 minutes before the cops showed up.

InactiveWere you home? Why did it take 15min to get there?
That door casing took a pretty good beating and held up!

ParticipantSorry to hear about it.
A number of radio control airplane clubs in the Denver area have been vandalized / burgalized in 2006. In some cases they stole copper wire, others gas generators etc. The fields are somewhat off the beaten path and apparently the twits feel they will take whatever they can steal no matter how small the amount.
You can’t apply logic or reasoning as these thieves are stupid.
Again, sorry to hear about it. If they are caught I would expect they might be the same dummies that hit the R/C fields.January 20, 2007 at 2:50 pm #56304Mike Jansen
ParticipantFirst of all, any SMART PERSON will tell you through their experience in Demolition Derby that if you’re going to hit something hit it with the back end and not the front. So we’re dealing with idiot criminals.
Secondly, if and when the police dust for prints and get a hit on AFIS give them some money to tell you who it is and i’ll be more than happy to help. I’ve got two clips that hold 13 apiece. We’ll let them re-enact the crime and we’ll play target practice. Crime one, they stole someone else’s Jeep. Crime two, they tried to steal your stuff. They’re habitual and are past rehabilitation. We can call them “stumpy” after we get done. There’s the criminal deterrant that is sorely lacking.
I’m glad you built your shop strong and that they didn’t get anything. Sorry to hear you’ll have to work this weekend to repair their damage.
Tell me when you’ll need my services. I’ve got hollow points now, we could use full metal jackets. It’s your call.I think it’s time Andy gave you more than one bullet Barney. Come see me, I’ve got plenty… :idn:

ParticipantI would of got there sooner but I was in Lafayette going to eat. I don’t think they were around long when my air raid siren alarm horn went off. This idiots didn’t even have the jeep in 4wd. Looks like I am going to have to build a new door frame out of some seriously thick steel. I will also have to do that to the other doors. Now they have pissed me off, next time they will meet my little friend.

ParticipantSorry to hear of this Brad. There is nothing worse than some low lifes trying to steal your stuff. I’ve been hit a few times and I can tell you it really sucks and makes you very mad. I’ve got a shotgun for each hand and plenty of hand guns. Just say the word and I’ll be there to help. Of course, with the help of your “little friend” you shouldn’t need any additional help. If there was any justice the police would allow you to keep the jeep to haul all your ammo.

How can he answer that Rick? Including all of us, I would say all the time.
Sorry to hear the news Brad. What did the mad dogs do? Were they there? I would not want to become their dinner 👿
Let me know if you need some external pre-alarm lighting around the building with some cameras. We can hook you up.
Sincerely,

ParticipantI bought the entire camera network (38 color Sonys with night vision zoom and auto focus) and the LED infra red invisible night lighting system with poles and outdoor housings from the Denver Mint last year at a auction. The cameras alone are $2800 each. I got the whole thing for $800. I still need the DVR system to hook it all up. I guess I should get-r-done before the next time.

ParticipantBrad, I’m in the DVR business and can get you fixed up. Your neighbor up the way at Jeeps Unlimited is having the same problem….they took a sawz-all cut a hole in the side of the guys building!

Get it done soon. If you need help let me know, sounds like Sam can help hook you up too.
We have been very successful in forcing would-be “copper cleppers” away from construction sites recently. It’s pretty intimadating watching the lights and cameras broadcast your entry when your not expecting it.You may be able to pick up some concrete barriers for your property line cheap soon also. They may say Centrix on them, but they should work.

Guess that was kind of a loaded question Curt.
As a side note, we had security cameras at our Body Shop, Some jerk come in broad daylight and stole a Cobra Mustang. We caught the whole thing on tape and showed it the police, they could not use because the thief had on sunglasses and stocking cap. They did use for a description of what he was wearing. I thought it was one of my employees leaving the parking lot with a customers car and realized someone jacked it, gave chase in our 4×4 Toyota we use for a plow in the winter. It was the closest thing with a key in it. It was like trying to run down Kyle in a Tag kart. Knife to a gun fight thing there.
We kept the cameras up and continued to record.
Hope they get em.

ParticipantBrad,
Sorry about the break-in attempt. But are you sure those dents in the building weren’t already there from one of Jansen’s off-course excursions?
