ModeratorI have heard nothing. Literally nothing. I mean, I heard one rumor and that was that the people looking at buying it had no interest in karting, but I have no idea if there is any truth to that one. So, like you guys, I have heard nothing.
Tom, there are other tracks, why sell the kart?

ParticipantThe airport authority has their monthly meetings an if you go on their web site you can look through the minutes an see what was talked about you can find out what is being done regards to the track

ParticipantThis is simply a matter of economics. The fixed cost of the land lease, what I anecdotally understood it to be a while back, makes it difficult to operate at anything close to even a break even. If Unser could not make it financially work with relatively busy rental karts, it stands that a financially feasible solution is likely out of reach. Solving the land lease cost, which is nearly impossible, is the only way to resurrect the track even if it Denver Jet and the Airport Board gave a hoot (which they don’t) and decided to extend a more favorable land lease. Why would they do that?
Attempting to turn it into a private club track funded by a group a deep pocket enthusiasts has its own challenges and issues even if you could get a critical mass of a couple dozen. Security, maintenance, insurance, etc., all stuff we know about, along with the monthly land lease just makes it mathematical nonsense.
Sad, because it was by far the best layout and build in Colorado in my opinion. We need a similar, challenging, flexible and accessible track for the metro area karters, but it needs to be on cheap, fee simple land, likely several miles east of the developed or developing metro area. But, I can’t see that happening either.
