CRE put up $1,000.00 cash award to the champion of the class this season to attract racers to help build the program and had none until Clara Toby, Angie Atkinson, Sara Schimmel and Nikki Cucuzza, a World Formula racer in 05, stepped up to take the challenge. It has enlivened the class and given the women a place to compete against each other. We have reduced the class weight to 320 lbs. to accomodate them. I don’t want to mess with the ladies efforts to establish a class for themselves, they have shown very good racing skills, talent and competitive spirit. Make that a LOT of spirit and good racing !!
Bring me at least four men that want to go mano e mano and you’ve got a class. The World Formula is a great package, that is low tech, at an affordable price for entry level racers whether they are men or women. We are considering the WF package to replace the Blue Wazoom in our Spec Jr.II class for 12 to 15 yeat olds in 07.
