    Roger:

The weekend was fun and, as always, it was great to see everyone. Thanks for all you did, along with Curt and the SKUSA gang, to put on a great race.

Ditto, Thanks for a great day of racing! It was really good to see everyone together, Barry, the Bradleys, Schermehorns,Giannones, Bart and Conner, the Brewers and lot’s of others. Doesn’t matter what you drive, what team your with or track your from let’s just race with all the best competition Colorado has to offer.

Thanks to Curt and Debbie for stepping up and doing the work and taking the risk to give us a series. The time for healing in Colorado karting is now let’s get it done. We can have the 120+ kart counts again and NO POLITICS just fun competitive racing.

Stacey, well put, I hope that we can build on this and other events. I still would like to find a way to get the Tracks, the Promoters, Clubs and who ever else and meet right after the end of the season to discuss bringing back a Colorado Kart Series for the sake of the Drivers, I know PPKRC is more than glad to host one or more of the Races, and travel to all the other venues. What we need is to make this opportunity available to the Drivers, I know you and I are looking to rebuild karting along with Curt, we need to get the rest involved and committed to building the sport. What we need is an out cry from the karting community to pressure all tracks, promoters, and clubs to meet and resolve the difference between those who have the issues. Nobody has the market on the drivers, the drivers need to be heard and we as track owners, promoters and clubs need to respond to their needs.
Lets all stop the BS and make this happen, I’m proposing that we hold two meetings, one in Grand Junction and one on the Front Range. The meetings should have several representatives of the Karting Community from both sides of the hill, each track owner, club or promoter should have a representative, lets make sure there is a good balnce with drivers. I’m more than glad to help organize this and do the invites, if you and others agree, please voice you opinion on this.
This last weekend showed that you can bring at least three groups together and they can all get along fine, good mix of classes and driver abilities. I know that others are trying to do the same, we just need to find a way to bring this together, I believe the drivers have the power to make it happen if they will stand up and voice their opinion on this. Its also important to point out that the drivers need to support all the venues in some way. If drivers just want to run at the same track over and over that’s a choice they make and that should be honored, but, they are missing out on a great experience by not traveling at least once to another venue or event. I know PPKRC is and has always been open to all drivers, you don’t need to be member PPKRC to race with us, we encourage our members to travel and support others and get experience driving with other drivers and racing on different tracks.

Stacey if you agree, lets set a date to meet in Grand Junction either before or after one of your races and set a date for the front range to get this group together, we’ll see who is for this and who will participate in building the sport of kart racing.

Honestly, it shouldn’t matter what engine, chassis, club or track you run at for you to be concerned about what is happening to the sport, speak up and make your voice be heard.

To all the drivers which includes me too, if you don’t care, we’ll have fun finding a track, club or kart to race in a few years.

I’m on the outside looking in, but have seen this before in my 35 years around karting.

One hurdle is most people don’t want to be heard for fear of stepping on toes and compromising their programs. If your local shop mainly supports one course and you do not, what happens? It has become far too political, and we’ve all seen what political differences have “achieved” in our nation, every day. To that end, perhaps anonymous input could work, many more opinions may well come your way if people’s identities are kept private.

No matter what…. all involved in karting must put ego and self-interest aside and come together for the future of the sport — and that includes everyone. Racing at the same track week in and week out is nothing like running at several circuits, all for a single championship, and whether clearly recognized or not that is keeping potential karters away. No other form of four-wheeled racing I can think of has ever survived this way — and none ever will — even if during a great economy.

Best of Luck in making things happen that benefits everyone. I tried years ago to intervene through mediation, and that went nowhere.

My hope is that something happens before all parties realize it’s too late…. and regret is never good.

Above all else, this is supposed to be fun.

Happy Racing to All. (emphasis on “Happy”)

Congratulations to PPKRC, proving that they can put on a well organised and safe
event. Although a red flag incident in TAG Senior involved an ambulance ride to the hospital. I’m sorry I don’t know the kid’s name, I know there were no serious injuries but an update would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks PPKRC,
The races have been great. Well ran and kept moving along. Tony does a great job of keping everyone up on what is happening and a great job of announcing. You guys staffed up great for the extra racers in this weekend and it went off as smooth as the smaller turn outs. You got done early enough I even made it to Denver Sunday night through the Springs before the ugly traffic crunch. Keep up the great job. And thanks for all the help for the beginner it makes it much easier to learn when you aren’t intimidated or told you are doing everything wrong.

Stacey thanks for bringing my suit over. It was good to see you again.

Gunter and Mark thanks for all your help too, greatly appreciated.

    Great job all.

The event sounds great sorry that I couldn’t make the trip. I agree with your theme of unity I would like to extend an open invitation to join the RACING FOR HEROES event at Bandimere Action Karting track on September 11, 2011.
The Colorado Kid Karts will be running along with the RACING FOR HEROES military, police, fireman, and first responders. We did this event in Grand Junction on fathers day and it was a huge success. We welcome all tags four and two strokes along with shifters. I would like to know who plans on attending. I am providing a free lunch for all drivers and need to have a number for the cater. The event will be run under IKF sanction. We will run an open tire rule for these two classes. A one day pass will be available for this race. Media coverage along with a color guard from the Air Force will kick off the morning. We will have special Rich Vito sportsmanship award along with most popular driver vote. Lets support each others event.
