ParticipantEnlighten me. What is the BS about? Hopefully not supermoto? If you watched any of the AMA national supermoto events held in Colorado the last several years you saw some incredible racing. Watching Ward, Henry and the other guys hang it out in the dirt, mud and pavement gets the blood flowing. It is a sport that takes amazing talent and provides great spectating. It makes me want to get my second half of a century old, decrepit body back on the pegs.
If it?s about another event scheduled to conflict with one of our local CSC events then I?m with you. That?s a bummer but there will always be scheduling conflicts with so much way cool racing that we have in this country. Having options beats the alternative. I?ll be at the CSC event in Grand Junction.

Mike,
Your dedication to minimalism is to be admired!
Now while there are probably a dozen or so ways that your post might be interpreted, it’s pretty clear what your intended meaning was:
“Rats! It’s BS that I can’t attend the KartSport event this year, but I simply can’t bear the thought of missing (another) race at my home track! Drat drat drat!”
Take care! :rotate:

Larry,
Agreed. That’s why, back on December 13 and prior to the CSC finalizing their own schedule, I made a post here in which I let folks know that the KSGP was very likely going to be on June 9-10. Check HERE
We managed to avoid conflicts with Stars, ProKart, Gatorz, IKF Region 7 and Region 11, and the Miller karting track in Utah.
Thanks much, I’m sure the CSC race at GJ will be great.

Yeah or something like that! Hey, I didn’t make it to your earlier Annual KartSport Grand Prix events but they sound cool. Maybe I’ll make a future event. Best of luck and have fun!

ParticipantThe CSC has worked very hard this year to inform racers and the public to when the race events are going to happen. This information came in a very timely fashion. Not like last year. Kartsport fine, but the comment of ( PS – I know the CSC has a race at Grand Junction that same weekend, but I’m here to plug the KSGP anyway ) is very disrespecfull to the people that has worked so hard. The way I read your comment is that you don’t care if the CSC runs in G.J. or not. I don’t think people know hard it is to get a quality race like the CSC on the western slope. Any other questions ?

Just one. Are you always this over-sensitive? :idn:
Odd, but I don’t find it disrespectful that the CSC placed a date on top of the KSGP, even though I had my date out there before the CSC finalized its schedule. Maybe you missed that part. Either way, you don’t see me crying in my Cheerios or feeling all threatened about it. As Larry said, it just happens some times. Track availability, relevance to the Colorado community, likelihood of the KSGP actually being held, honest mistake, diabolical plot, I’m sure there were many possible reasons why there’s an overlap. Maliciousness or disrespect from either side, I sincerely doubt it.
I don’t retract the comment, and if you find it disrespectful, then that’s your issue, not mine. It’s not as if I encouraged anyone to blow off the GJ race. I’m pretty sure I made good efforts to communicate the KSGP date, and I’m also pretty sure that KartSport has gone out of its way to provide coverage of the Colorado kart scene, which in my mind, is a good way of showing respect to your community.
Thanks,
Jeff

ParticipantAt our date set meeting we had a list of race dates Angie had put together to avoid. I do not remember if the KSGP was on it. We would have avoided the date if possible. I am sure it was just a mistake. We always appreciate the coverage KartSport has done for the CSC. Now if I can get you to do a story about the new 4 stroke engines I would even put an ad in your fine publication.

The Cheerios comment shows your respect. :bs:Your version of “respectful” means waving your BS flag from the outset. Got it. 😆
Blink, as for engine stories… we don’t tend to do too many of those. Doesn’t fit in what people expect from KartSport. I do appreciate the compliment though. If a cool/entertaining way to write about them can be contrived, let’s talk. We’re pretty honest about what we’re willing to do, or not do.
Marc, see ya this weekend, I’ll be at Buttonwillow. Damn that Kutscher, he scheduled a ProKart Challenge race on the same Saturday that my lawn darts team has a tournament. The nerve of that guy!! I’m throwing the BS flag at him! 😀

InactiveProKart Challenge Places Bounty on KartSport Grand Prix Honors
Citing a sense of Southern California pride and the spirit of a good rivalry, ProKart Challenge and Superkarts! USA president Tom Kutscher recently threw down a bounty to his series regulars.
“Go up to the KartSport Grand Prix and show them how we do things PKC-style!” encouraged the always enthusiastic Kutscher at the recent ProKart event at Cal-Speed. “Win any of the classes at the KSGP at Infineon Raceway, and you’ll get a free entry including tires and fuel for one of the remaining 2007 ProKart Challenge events!”
KSGP organizer Jeff Franz was pleased with the response.
“I’m a SoCal guy myself, so it’s good to hear that the SoCal community is getting fired up to steal some of the NorCal thunder at the KartSport Grand Prix. More than anything, I want to thank Tom Kutscher for his continued support of this event. This PKC Bounty Program is just one more incentive for the PKC series regulars to head to Infineon.”
Details of the program are as follows; any racer who wishes to earn a ProKart Challenge comp entry (entry fees, tires and fuel), must do the following:
– have raced in at least one ProKart Challenge event PRIOR to the June 8-10 running of the KartSport Grand Prix
– must display (2) Superkarts! USA stickers on their kart bodywork during the KSGP weekend
– must wear a Superkarts! USA patch on their driving suit
– must be declared the winner in any of the KSGP classes (Pro ICC, TAG Pro, G1, Stock Moto)Complete details for the 2007 KartSport Grand Prix can be found at http://www.kartsportgrandprix.com
