ParticipantJust remember that the spec gear will have to be different for the 4″ tires than the 6″ tires, since they have a different diameter.
I really don’t think there should be a question here, since different chassis won’t work well with a different size tire. You should be able to run whatever works the best.
Would anyone seriously want to run a 7.10 tire in Jr. 2?

ParticipantKurt, Our real question on the rear tire was if 4.50’s were allowed like last year since WKA rules were 6.00 for this age group. They were quicker for most karts than 6.00’s. I would not consider the 7.10 either.

InactiveI’m assuming this question is to have everyone on the same tire and gear? :idn:
I wouldn’t want that. It should be up to what works for that kart/driver.
It should be open to any of the three with NO spec gear.

ParticipantI agree with Russ , X-Man ran a Coyote full size kart and would not handle with 4.6 & 6.00 needed 7.10 on the other hand his Hurrican only on 6.00 would rail on any track. It should be up to the Driver/kart.!! tire size makes gear ratio different.

InactiveBTW……I did not vote.
I’m for the 5th option; any of the 3, No Spec Gear
Leave it up to the tuners/drivers
