    Doug,

Thanks. I hope Adrian gets the opportunity to race in Champ car. But until IRL and Champ put aside the egos and merge the crowds they’ll race in front of will look a little bit bigger than this at best. What used to be the crown jewel in open wheel racing is now a joke, both series. Other than Indy and Long Beach what do they both really have? Oh, that’s right they’re the feeder series to NASCAR, or Formula One Light. :puke :bang :puke

Just call me a bitter ex fan of both who will continue to go to Indy because Indy is Indy and won’t watch the rest…

A certain young man is in Indy today. Look for an anouncement soon.

    Bitter, party of one!

You may be right about your statements but I still think it’s an awesome potential oppurtunity. If Roman or any of our Boy’s got the chance, I would support, cheer, covet, envy or whatever you want to call it. Just because they fragmanted a succesfull series dosen’t mean that talented young drivers particularly from our “backyard” shouldn’t have our support.

I watched a few series last year just because they had Karters who had moved up. Some I didn’t know personally. Mazda, Bmw, Atlantics etc… And if Carrio gets a ride I’ll catch every race I can.

I’ll support local talent and yes, I’m very happy to see this happen. It couldn’t happen to a nicer kid.

I’ll support Bobby Wilson when I also see him at Indy. He’s got a better ride this year and I (still) remember his duel with Sam Walls (the old guy was on pole by less than .1 sec) and AJ Noud.

And Graeme Rahal’s inaguration as an 18 year old into Champ, while nice, is a practice session to see him go to Formula 1. His father’s very adamant about that and I’ll be glad to see another American in F1 in a few years!

Bitter, party of one signing out.
By the way, here’s some sour apples for y’all 8)

    Bitter?

I worked in IndyCar (CART, IRL) since 1993 until I moved here. The split did kill it all. I was a huge supporter of the IRL in its beginning. It was sold on bringing american open wheel racers back to the 500. If it wasnt for that many great open wheel racers like Tony Stewart, Davey Hamilton, Billy Boat, etc. wouldnt of ever made it there. It is now exactly what TG preached against. ( engine leasing, street racing, suitcase drivers, etc..) More than that it has become professional spec racing (both series)

Indy became a hard town to work in racing. Teams lay-off staff, and or close shop too often. It was real hard to keep the passion when the job market became sour. My passion for the 500 has died out too. I never thought it possible with my roots in the 500 (grandfather 3 time veteran, uncle 1946 winner) My favorite race at IMS is now F-1.

I really hope to see more american drivers (especially karters) make the open wheel ranks. I wish nothing but the best for all the guys and gals who want to acheive the open wheel dream. Just keep your fire burning for it!

Champcar’s leadership and ladder program is a step in the right direction. Lets all hope something works. NAPCAR will never be an option in my opinion!

Off the soapbox and back to work now!

    Just got off the course.
Wore a parka and shot a 77. I lost a ball in the OB area. See, what happened was my ball bounced off the frozen water hazard and out of bounds… 😀

Brian, I’d love to talk to you about Indy and such. Tom Sneva told me they BEGGED him to race at Daytona. Now it’s the other way around and that does make me sick.

That sounds like a lot of salami.
Are you sure you’re not pulling our leg? 😯

Well, until Genoa and Salami put their differences aside, I’m not support either. I’ll starve first! Call me a bitter ex-fan of both. Now I’ll eat salami on an antipasta platter because……..well………..it’s an antipasta platter. 😥

Now they are just a feeder for the main course.

Now if I got free salami? 8) 😀
