I?ll let you in on some top-secret information. The mushrooms you have been picking in the woods are not for your salad. Is this idea from the same person that insisted on renting VIP tents at the last GGP for $2000 to keep the empty chairs from getting sunburned?
The Benevolent Dictator,
or one of them anyway.November 1, 2006 at 5:23 pm #55345Curt Kistler
ParticipantA suggestion has been made to invite each of the viable bodies, (WKA, SKUSA, etc.) to give a presentation at the town hall meeting in order to evaluate first hand this issue and make recommendations. This idea has merit
.
I know George will be on hand to talk about the WKA. AJ and I can answer SKUSA/PRO Kart Challenge questions. If there are any other organization rep’s that want the podium at the meeting, please show up and state your proposals.

InactiveOver the past months many have come up with good ideas like Scott’s above. My concern will be to come out of this meeting with a minimum of either concrete decisions and/or options.
This meeting will be highly structured, knowing the leaders, but in the end we need strong goals, direction, agreements or it will be a waste of time.
When everybody comes bring an open mind, be willing to compromise, bend but do not break, speak be short and don’t ramble.
We are trying to drive karting to a higher level in Colorado-come together-help the racers, shops and especially the track owners
YES THE TRACK OWNERS!Shawn, like your proposal-i wish we could just vote on it and go with it.

InactiveHow many times does someone have to say…..”THOSE TENTS WERE PAID FOR BY THE SPONSORS WHO BOUGHT THE PACKAGE! YOU CAN’T FORCE THEM TO USE THEM!”…..before it finally sinks in that those tents were paid for in the sponsorship packages by the sponsors who bought them?!

ParticipantWould it make sense for CSC to contact this group who is promoting karting in Canada as an alternative to street racing?

It would be interesting to find out what results they’re getting and how their program is set up. They are also producing a video on karting to go with the program.
Maybe putting programs like this in place at colleges or high schools might be a way to generate interest and get people to the tracks. I have no idea if anything like this has been tried before in Colorado.
Just a thought,
