So, is anybody excited about this, or is it just me? Come on folks, speak up, let Rusty know what to expect about it on Saturday. The man is about die from anticipation.
Also, JB says let’s run it as a points race, what about everyone else, points or no points.
I say run it for CSC points. Greeley wants the CSC to race that weekend, and as such they are offering to spend alot of money. They hope to build it to a national race, but want to make sure that the CSC is the cornerstone of the event.

I agree with making it a points race. It would encourage more karters to enter. Also, show Greeey Colorado karters are serious about growing the sport!!
The only question I would have is: who would run it-CSC or Rusty’s Group.
I’ll be there in my pimp new easykart. From this point on, i will be referring to Easykart as Birel Spec. I hate the name. This will be my first race. Big X on the back will ID me as the newb.

Right now it looks like it will be me and whoever I can get to help.
If it is made a CSC points race then it would be no different than how we run a race at any of the other tracks in the series.

Other than that if I see you in the pits I will be able to avoid your irratic driving style 😉
Rich…I offered to put an orange flag on a whip antenna but that got voted down. As an alternative, I’ll just drive all laps waving one hand over my head..indicating that I’m the ‘backmarker’. :cheers:

Iame POWERJust a quick note to give thanks to Angie and JB for publicly supporting the Greeley Grand Prix during “The Meeting” at IMI yestreday. Needless to say I am very pleased with the overwhelming support shown by the racers to include The Greeley Grand Prix as a CSC points race and to now have it part of the CSC shedule! Thanks to everybody than came out to attend.

How about some Greeley Grand Prix stickers for our karts?
i have a high school friend that now works in marketing for Channel Lock tools. I just pitched him the idea of co-sponsoring the Greeley GP. He said that they have ‘scaled back their racing commitments’ this year and they were currently sponsoring the rookie of the year in BASS fishing…ok. : 😯
Well I tried. I even used some LOGIC (scary) with him. I said that we (karters) have more inclination to buy TOOLS than the average bass fisherman. no dice. Then i mentioned that their rival (snap on) seems to think karting is a good demographic. Still nothing.
Their VP of marketing thinks racing is a black hole for money. I agree. But how can we convince them or any other company to throw some marketing moola our way? Thoughts anyone?

Good for you! I don’t officially represent anything but did want to thank you for taking some initiative. Sometimes its exactly a contact like yours that can get a foot in the door and overcome the tough job of prospecing and cold calling. Any one of us may have the right contact and not even know it? I do know that a menu of sponsor packages is being worked on and once it is finished it will be available to everyone so that in case someone has an inside track they can go ahead and communicate the general outline to them. This menu should include everything from a CSC series title sponsor package, Greeley Grand Prix and CSC event presentor packages, class sponsors, all the way to corporate promotion and hospitality packages. I hope it comes out soon, I’ve got some ideas of my own! Keep up the good work.
