Usually by experience level. Last thing I’d want to do is be in a high end class with some newbie in his new 911 Turbo, and him not knowing what the hell to do out there.
Is this an open track type of event or a driving school?
The BMWCCA will be having a school out there on 4/31 and 5/1 as well. http://www.rmcbmwcca.org/DrivingSchool/driving_school.htm

ParticipantHey Streets and Spencer,
Spencer is right, it is divided more on experience then the car. There is even a “first time ever” group. This group has a little bit of class room time before they hit the track. Then they follow the instructor around to learn the lines and such.
Spencer, Its a bit of both an open track and a school. You can partake in the class or just be placed in a group, depending on your experience, and hit the track when your group is called to the grid.

InactiveWhat is the track like? I’d agree with you on the newbies with the big HP and big $$ and little DRIVING skill……..but what about evenly matched people with different cars? Sounds like fun.

ParticipantHey streets,
I’m not sure what you mean by evenly matched folks in different cars. If you mean what if two guys with the same driving skill and one guy has a pinto with a 4-banger and the other guy has a viper, well, they will be in different groups. Even though they have the same skill you don’t want to have or be a rolling road block.January 31, 2005 at 9:36 pm #49617Anonymous
InactiveThats exactly what I meant:)
Think they’ll let me race a Buick Grand National?Lol
