ParticipantSome names I would like to throw out there are:
Chaz Clover for any position. He is very level headed, intelligent, kart savy and knows damn near all of us.
Bill Noud. Even though AJ still races, how much can one cheat in the pro shifter class? Bill has been around the block a few times and knows his stuff.
Alan or Diserie Wilson. Class people with as much passion in this sport one can find.
Rusty Newberry. Great flag man that really pays attention to his grid, safety, ramming, blocking, jamming… He get’s it, and has a spine.I will think of more in time. But this should get some communication going.
PS: Is the CSC Board going to appoint a committee of one racer or tuner from each class? This has been mentioned in the past and I feel it would be of great benefit for communication reasons. Let these 7 or 8 folks sit in the meetings that pertain to rules, schedules, pre-race information…
they can then get with their perspective class and let them know what’s going on, or at least be a voice in the crowd that may be heard.Just wondering.

ParticipantI suppose this would be the thread to voice my 2 cents for the CSC.
I think we need an actual written rule book, like mentioned on another post, for 2005. It would make the rules concrete and no dispute should arise if everyone had a rule book.
My suggestion is for going about the making of the rule book. I don’t see any reason to write our rules from scratch so we should adapt an existing book like SKUSA’s since we already follow it (more or less). The soon to be board members could read through SKUSA’s book and either agree on every part or if there is a disagreement then change it to suit our series. Some changes that are already in place from this year could be added while some need to be clarified. One that I believe should make it into the rule book is the 4 wheels off rule. It has been stated in almost all driver’s meetings that if all 4 wheels go off the track, the driver must stop and look for a clear track before returning to the race. I have yet to see this rule enforced more than one time.
Don’t know if this would be a reasonable way to go about it but a suggestion never hurts! Thanks for all the efforts put forth by the CSC crew! It’s much appreciated! With a little luck we could make California jealous!

ParticipantCurt,
Thank you for getting some names on the list. As for the representative thing, it was decided that was getting too many people in the mix. The position of Race Director will be the racers’ “go to” person, and they will take any item needing further attention to the board. Now, of course, it could help if the members of the class discussed the issue amongst themselves, and had just one person call.Taylor,
Rules are very high on the priority list for the CSC organization – Tech rules AND race procedures. As for the 4 off deal, it will help to have a Flag Master that will address the issue with his/her flagging staff before each event. Consistency is what we are after. The corner workers and even the start/finish flagger may be local to the track, but with written procedures, and the Flag Master working with the tracks, we should have better safety and consistency on the track.Keep the ideas going, I am starting another thread to post them, so that I can keep track of the ideas for the next CSC meeting.
thanks,

InactiveA CSC board is a great idea!
Will there be any racer representatives on the board?
Who will be looking out for the racers interests?
It seems to me that if you have a board then you should have representation on that board from the largest group, the racers.
You could have, say 3 class representatives from Shifters, TAG and jr’s/kids that could help with the leg work of gathering information to pass on at meetings.
One incentive to being a rep would be free entry fees for the CSC races
let the classes select the reps.September 15, 2004 at 1:09 pm #48350Angie MacEwen
ParticipantGraeme,
The idea of racer reps was discussed. It was decided that we would not do that at this time. For now we need our top positions – Race Director, Tech Director, and Flag Master – filled. The Race Director is in effect also a racers’ representative.
It could be that, informally, a class (or group of classes) could choose the person they would like to handle taking their issues to the Race Director who will in turn take it to the board as a whole. That should result in less phone calls, yet better communication, between racers and the CSC. It is just not going to be an official position – at least for now. This is a new organization, and to start we didn’t want it too complicated-positions could be added in time, if that is the way the CSC decides to work it. It will be easier to add them later, than to add them now, not like the way it works, and take them away again.
I have been and will be secretary of the CSC, at least for now, so I have been in the meetings taking notes, that is how I can pass along this information.

Gee Curt, I appreciate that!
However, I must decline.

ParticipantThink about it Chaz. You get to watch that special TV channel in your FREE hotel room 😆 :idea
We need to get Ian from IMI on the nominating board. He is involved at every race in one way or another. Great attitude and understands the sport. He has performed pre-race teck many times and can wave a mean flag :check :red :white :green :yellow :blue :black
When do we vote? :wave :wave :wave :wave
